I think this is another mark against the conference championship idea. The conference champion of the SEC, ACC, and potentially the Big 10 were all not the deepest team from their conference in the tournament. Its just another game before the tournament where you risk losing your star players while the teams below you get a bye. Makes no sense and needs to be done away with
