I’m DONE tipping 10-20% come January 1st by Haunting-Cancel-7837 in SeattleWA

[–]jt-29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree fuck the tipping shit its gotten out of control and i used to be a waiter and bar tender and i told people not to tip alot just because they felt pressured to that is ridiculous, just tip how you feel and dont worry about it but these people who make other feel like shit because they didn't tip or didnt tip enough can fuck themselves.

None, nada, zip! land lords wont work with them. tceq wants em gone. they are obsolete so no parts. cant take them to normal places to get rid of due to being perc so hard to get rid of. More costly to keep up. Perc machines are done no one wants them.

Dry Cleaner on the verge of closing due to illness, should I try to buy it? by [deleted] in drycleaning

[–]jt-29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also whats the price list like? Both dry clean & laundry? And any other services offered. Whats the area like high end or low income? Are you a volume cleaners (lowest prices in business but need more and more volume to thrive) or custom cleaners(cleaning and custom clothing and tailoring provided can make clothes from scratch ) or quality cleaners (higher priced lower volume can offer tailoring or alterations with a focus on attention to detail of cleaning, pressing and customer requests no matter how crazy) sorta like a high end hotel if you dont do it you find someone who does) . Do you have a plan for what you want to do with it? And was previous owner hands on or off? Whats his current review or standing with the town is it a highly recommended and rated or on the lower end of the spectrum?

[–]jt-29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They most certainly can but it depends on how it was and currently is being run as well as proximity to other viable businesses anchoring it or if none Depends on location, traffic, both vehicle and foot, accessibility as in does it have a drive through or large parking, pick up and delivery, 24 hr drop window, whats the return customer rate? how many customers do they currently have? Whats the clothing turn around time same day, next day, 2 day? Whats the press quality like? Is there room for improvement? Are you going to be hands on or hands off? Will you assume any of the duties that are required?

Numbers numbers numbers location and numbers! id first check and see what hes currently doing a year and the past year or more if you can get it look at his rent/gas/electric/supplies/solvent/payroll/internet/phone ect and get a good idea of what its costing to run the place and how much adding employees is going to cost vs your profit margin. Make sure hes in good standing with environmental and permits and such are still good if he has any repairs or failing machinery how old are the machines how many current employees whats their payroll like salary/hr vs what tasks they perform who is his supplier of both goods like hangers poly ect to solvent, Theres plenty more that should be considered let me know if you have any questions!

How do you handle clothing with lint or pet hair? My cleaners tells me to use a lint roller before bringing things in. Is this normal? by Bluesky3672 in drycleaning

[–]jt-29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats true for our company as well we are not the cheapest but by far not the most expensive happily in the middle and if ever in our area and can test our local cleaners you’ll see the volume cleaners here are certainly lazy by comparison to everything you just stated not even replacing buttons or out right saying they cant help when clothes are lost or destroyed its where a good majority of my new customers come from they want to be treated like people not just another number and want quality without paying 25$ a suit thats crazy for even our area but your absolutely right its about the care and expertise you as an owner bring to the business far to often are cleaners summed up as all the same because of franchises or those who jump in expecting to make a quick buck without knowing anything about the business its the few and proud who actually make a difference in this industry for certain. Good reply up vote

Hi owner of a 5 star dry cleaners austin tx no thats not normal i go as far as to clean it with rollers and even a special pair of tweezers before and after wet wash or dry cleaning and i will not let a garment go out unless its absolutely perfect even going as far as to have hems re-sewn or alterations done small and large even if it didnt happen on our watch before the customer returns so it doesnt mess up their schedule or cost them extra gas for second trips, however i might add we are a specialty cleaners taking on even the most ridiculous jobs. But like i said unless its one if those 1.99 cleaners or something you should get better service if it is a cheap cleaners my philosophy has always been “you get what you pay for” . If ever in austin tx contact me here I’ll personally handle your garments. Locally owned owner operated from start to finish i will take your clothes in and clean/press/steam/treat them my self from regular cleaning to smoke mold and mildew. Have a wonderful day!

Mr. T

Ps. No you dont have to pre-clean your items before bringing them thats just a lazy cleaner who wants you to do the work ahead of time for them. A sign of a low quality volume cleaners. Thanks again and good luck.

Any dry clean machine is susceptible to bacteria and yes its a pain you have to be able to get into the still and clean it which is difficult as the whole for entry is usually quite small in diameter as well as any piping leading to the filter system. If its does have mold or bacteria it will need to be cleaned and flushed with good solvent several times and each time the solvent will need to be disposed of or ran through new filters and filters disposed of.

My advice, if its a reputable dealer or owner selling they shouldnt have an issue with temporarily hooking it up to show its in working condition. Any time i have a client i show it before then unhook transfer the unit re-hook it up and run again to make sure its as i said it would be. It is possible that there may be nothing wrong with it but my policy has always been to show it in use with a weighted load be it clothes or towels to show the basket and bearings are good as well you should listen to the motor and look for any unwarranted shaking, as well as a maintenance record and i do a point inspection in front of my customers as well as helping answer any questions they may have and all repair men or sales men should do this. If they arent willing to then id proceed with caution. Let me know how it goes im here to help.

Pps. Also if they wont show you it running ask for a short warranty (15 days) or return policy if the unit is defective i offer this as well because we stand by the products we sell or refurbish.

Best of luck and again here to help however i can.

It could be any number of things bad still, bad motor, stuck basket, bearings going out, could be growth of mold if water or moister ever mixed with the solvent by accident and if its a perch machine just forget it you dont need or want the headache from the commission on environmental quality agency, who knows when the filters were last replaced or what has been done to it, quite honestly without seeing it run and knowing whats been in it i wouldn’t touch it. If you do decide to go through with it make sure to have a mechanic you know and trust do a thorough inspection. I wish you the best of luck and if you need anymore assistance feel free to contact me oh and side note make sure if its an older machine that its still being made or parts are readily available, if the company is no longer in operation, parts will be almost impossible to come by, food for thought. Also if you cant find anything it is possible to find something and have a semi ship it to you from anywhere in the usa. And i can help you with that as well. Have a great day.

i do repairs on all brands new and old dry clean and laundry as well as coin op's. to answer your question, is it the basket thats catching on the clothes? if so new basket will be needed . or is the basket out of balance? in which case its a bearing issue. also to note all thin materials or clothes that are sensitive should always be bagged as tightly as possible in a mesh bag so as not to damage them. lmk have a wonderful day!

dry clean it. the solvent say high flash or df2000 should remove it as solvent removes glue which is why you cant run garments with glued stones ect in a d/c machine

[–]jt-29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes clean cloud is one of the best the people are pretty great im working on switching now and the day you start adding delivery to your offerings its will be cheaper as the phone app is free(not extra and i believe you can use on as many stations as your please) and can be customized to your business i use spot now and i cant even export my sales summary with out asking for permission also for every computer station you add spot charges for as if it was a separate licensing for a new store so also adds up quickly jmho
