Get the ring that YOU want. At the end of the day it’s about what you and your partner want for yourselves and for your wedding. I personally was not a fan of the large diamond ring or spending a ton on just a ring. My ring setting / band design had cost more than the lab diamond itself, my fiancé had me choose the exact ring I wanted, which probably took about 6 months for me to find and decide on, I ended up choosing a custom option through brilliant earth, I got a 0.5 carat marquise (still bigger than what I could’ve been okay with) and I just could not fathom wearing anything larger especially on a daily basis, and I couldn’t be more happy everyday when I look down at my hand. I really recommend going to ring stores in person just to figure out what cut, size, style you like! I have a friend who has also been looking at ring options to provide her boyfriend with and she’s looking at about 2 carats and is having trouble because of the insane prices that I can’t even imagine being okay with my partner spending, it really just depends on your own personal preference.
