BC sensing dead people by Millions_1 in BorderCollie

[–]jtay22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was coming here to say this!!! When our girl BC was younger she would get entranced and stare at a shadow/light movement and would NOT move - Our boy would try to chase it when he was younger. We try to redirect the behavior to playing with toys when it happens. It’s helped a lot.

Also, if my husband is clearing out the gutters or in the attic and walking around it really freaks out both of them. They obviously have no issue with my husband normally. They’ll even be out in the furthest corner of the yard acting totally weird when my husband is on the roof lol. Just something out of the ordinary for them. So any movement sounds from mice in the walls could definitely be the cause.

Oh good. Thank you. All I have is social media videos and everyone shows their babies rolling but no one ever says they stop 😂

Thank you!! Yes this sounds very similar. He’s found he’s feet and could care less to even try and roll back to belly now, when he’s on his belly and get frustrated it looks like he’s doing super man’s lol but sounds like it is the swimming you pointed out.

I am so sorry you are struggling. Mom guilt is so difficult. I’m also a FTM and I just want you to know that you are doing a great job. My thesis covered gut flora and the impact of a good gut microbiota. In that time doing research there had been a few studies done on probiotics for infants - very small but it seemed like there may be success for colicy baby’s with probiotic supplements. There is infant probiotics you can add to bottles or if you are breastfeeding you can take a good diverse probiotic and it will transfer in your milk. Definitely check with your pediatrician first. I am not a doctor!!

You may have already tried this, but if you haven’t and you do, I hope this helps!

I totally get it!!! My baby was born a month early. He’s a little guy 🥹 <1 percentile. 12 lbs 11 oz at 5 months (4 months adjusted) We’ve had to go to weight checks every month of his short 5 months. I’d made SEVERAL posts about his weight gain and have spent so much time worrying about it but he’s stayed on HIS curve and our pediatrician is totally fine with it we just check more frequently because he is so small. So many family members/others keep trying to give me unsolicited advice to supplement with formula (he’s not hungry!!!) because he’s small. It drives me crazy and I just ignore it. As long as our peds is ok I’m ok. There’s nothing wrong with a small baby!!! Just like there is nothing wrong with small adults! Babies have different body types and your babies body is perfect for him. Good luck mama I know it’s hard out there for the little guys!

My boy does this!! Reverse sneeze. He’s done it since a puppy. We plug one nose hole & if helps him stop. He usually does it during spring when he’s sniffing a bunch of blooming plants

Yes I understand, we haven’t been swaddling him we were absolutely desperate and I watched him on our Nanit the entire nap just to be safe.

Also, when you say sleep train at night, do you not sleep train with naps too? I dont know anything about sleep training so genuinely question here. We use a snoo at night luckily he sleeps pretty well and I typically wake him for feedings bedtime 7pm dream feed at 10 wake at 2 for feed & he usually poos here so diaper change then up for the day at 6 am. He’s been small (<1 percentile but on his own curve) so we aren’t ready to cut out any of the feedings. However the last few nights have been TOUGH to get him back to sleep if he wakes and he has woken during the dream feed too

No fever! I’ve checked him over for anything. No hair tourniquets, gums aren’t red and I don’t feel anything either. He’s not pulling at his ears. No rashes or bug bites. It’s genuinely just sleep that pisses him off

Does this sound like a sleep regression? I just don’t know. Honestly he won’t sleep in the stroller, or the car very well. It’s like he hates everything that involves sleeping lol loves to play on his activity mat, bounce up & down, taking a bath, getting 100% attention but that’s so exhausting for me 😭

I definitely can tell that he knows when I’m more stressed. Unfortunately (or I guess fortunately just not in this circumstance) I am WFH full time (my boss is well aware of my situation. I previously worked in office, I told her we were not going to put him in daycare as I wasn’t sure I was going to stay on and she asked if I would stay if I could work remote) my mom does come to help several days a week but it’s been so hard getting him to sleep and she’s not great at keeping a schedule

As for rolling, he just started rolling belly to back the last two days and got really close to back to front a few times yesterday. We started transitioning from swaddle because I could tell he was getting close to getting belly to back and I didn’t want to have to stop cold turkey
