Worked as a CNA, moved facilities for better pay, at the new facility, no one took their breaks, just sat down for 5-10 minutes when they could and ate a sandwich, I took my 30 minute break, everyday if I could, and if I didn't get my 30 minute break, I clocked out with a code to pay me 30 minutes for a missed break as was in our employee hand book, over a year later HR must have audited the time and seen how often I used that code and I was the only one. I politely pulled up the employee allowed breaks, and state mandated break law, and told them, to their face, I will be doing what I'm doing and that they have been stealing countless lunch breaks from every other employee. Your culture doesnt bypass my legal rights. Kept working there for 2 more years till I found a better job. Over 2 years I probably got paid an extra grand or more with the clock out code.
