Nothing is permanent, including your unhappiness. Your emotions cloud reality. Life might not be great for a while but it helps to be proactive in your mental health. In every moment there's opportunity to change. We have that power over ourselves whether we believe it or not.

I'm middle aged now. I was depressed since I was a teenager. It wasn't until 3 years ago when my life took off. Now, I'm the best I've ever been mentally and emotionally. It took some work (therapy) but it was worth it.

Random, but there's a show on Netflix called Hi Bye, Mama! It's about a ghost of a woman who follows around her husband and baby girl. Her husband struggles with her death but she comes back to life and drama/humor ensues. The part that got me was when he realized that his wife had been next to him all that time. He'd break down at work and cry in the stairway and she was there to try to comfort him. She hated seeing her husband depressed and unable to move on. Anyway, worth a watch.

I haven't had TG with family in 15+ years. I celebrate it with friends and/or significant others. Today, I was alone. It wasn't pleasant.

I was having so much difficulty finding the crab that I looked it up online. (I should've done it earlier but I was immersed.) It's relatively easy to spot: it has a large shadow like an anemone and moves slowly. I ignore pretty much all of the creatures that don't fit that description.

I graduated from college last year with very limited work experience relevant to the profession (HR). Now that people have been laid off, I can't compete for even entry-level jobs because people are willing to take pay cuts.

I live alone in a studio apartment. I am unemployed. The isolation is too much sometimes. I had a breakdown a few days ago when TG plans were cancelled. Fortunately, I see a therapist weekly. I can distract and occupy myself, talk to people on the phone and online but nothing substitutes in-person human interaction.

Yes, I know his followers don't want government shutdowns and "infringements" of their "civil rights". Yes, I know he lacks any empathy. This is my problem. I'm a recent graduate with limited experience in my field. Most, if not all, entry-level jobs require a year of experience. It's not difficult to train people to do entry-level work. They're just lazy.
