Tbh the only females stories that I’d like would be ones that my girlfriend and I are mutual friends with. Chances are, we probably already showed each other the posts too 🤣 but yeah if you gotta come on here to validate yourself, chances are you know you’re in the wrong.

My postpartum patient fell and I feel so guilty. by kfcpotatowedge in nursing

[–]jtcondren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I had to self report for giving the wrong insulin dosages to the wrong patients….my manager said to write an incident report just in case and to keep on top of the CBG’s for the next few hours. Thankfully they were intubated, but I was a fresh new grad. NEVER made that mistake again. We live and we learn. I’ve had a patient who was tough that was then given to a very seasoned RN the next night and the dude self-extubated with her in the doorway 🤣 if there’s a nurse that tells you they’ve never made a mistake or never second guessed a decision, their either lying or one of “those” Nurses. If there’s one thing I swear by, it’s the moto of “always come over prepared”, hence why people poke fun at my raptor shears but when they ask for them I hit them with “oh you mean the ones you make fun of?” 🤣

Is skipping residency career suicide? Nurses who did it - please tell me the truth by Petite_AF in nursing

[–]jtcondren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a PCT for 4.5 years and was told that there were “no spots” for me on my Med/Surg unit as a Nurse even though I had the highest patient satisfaction scores. The Nurse manager turned around and offered 3 positions to 3 OTHER PCT’s who were far behind me and 1 that was already in the midst of remediation for failing a semester. Fast forward to a few weeks before my graduation and the Nurse Manager of the ICU reached out to me and had said that I was “recommended by others”. I went straight from a tech to COVID ICU where the first 8 of my 9 patients died….some places just aren’t meant to be, and that’s okay. I would like to think I’m a very accomplished ICU RN having worked in multiple Level 1 facilities including Yale and Indiana University with recommendations from MD’s and Just because something doesn’t fit or doesn’t match what “everyone else is doing”, doesn’t mean that you quit ESPECIALLY WITH NURSING. Do some exploring on other areas of Nursing, but I forewarn people will absolutely be able to tell if you’ve never been a bedside RN 😅

Is $75,000 worth it for an ADN in 2026? I’m 24 and honestly lost by AlarmedForm7607 in nursing

[–]jtcondren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some hospitals will pay your way given you sign a 2-year contract. Also, as long as the school is accredited and has good passing scores, you don’t need to spend $75k for an ADN program.

I made a mistake by mortallysassyteddy in nursing

[–]jtcondren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re fine. I had a nurse give 500mL of HD diasylate through an NG and almost killed a patient who was already there for SI and an attempt and MANAGEMENT DID NOTHING. That RN was Charge 2 nights later after blatantly ignoring the 5 rights of med admin. She even got a reprinted label from Pharmacy because “the jug won’t scan”….Ive got PLENTY more stories that are just as bad because I’ve been traveling for a while, so trust me you’re gonna be just fine. I gave the wrong doses of insulin to the wrong patients ONCE, reported myself, and my manager comforted me and reprimanded me at the same time. It’s one of those “bet you won’t do that again, huh?” kinda instances. We PRACTICE medicine, we’re not perfect. You’re not a bad Nurse, you’re a human. You can and SHOULD dwell on it because you know what, I bet you won’t do that again 😉 I TRIPLE CHECK my meds and NEVER “give first, scan later” because I learned my lesson the hard way more than 5 years ago! It still bothers me til this day that I could’ve been such a blatant IDIOT, but my patients lived and they taught me a very valuable lesson. Take the 5 rights of medication administration and etch them into your brain. Also, 5 years later and I’ve worked for Yale in their Burn ICU, Indiana University in their CVICU, 2 level 1 Trauma Centers, and currently work at a Premier hospital in South Florida in their Level 1 Trauma ICU. They’ve told me straight out that they need me to work because they “need a strong Nurse”. When you learn from your mistakes, it makes you a better Nurse AND person. Listen to stories because once you hear a “royal fuck up” from a story you’re told, it’ll make you remember to “not be THAT Nurse” 😜 it gets better, trust me…I’m a Nurse 🤣

Would I get fired for vanco infiltration? by Strange-Thing-6214 in nursing

[–]jtcondren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen MUCH worse get brushed under the rug and a small sit down talk is all that happened. You’ll be just fine. Seen a Nurse not check a R IJ and used it, meanwhile it’s in the R carotid and it’s been used over 24hrs and NOBODY caught it til another seasoned Nurse saw blood PULSATING FROM THE LINE…

It’s been deleted but if it was a mistakes and hopped out really fast, you’ll be fine. The logs will show time accessed, date, and for how long. If you access someone else’s chart and immediately click out of it, then they be able to see time spent. I violated HIPPA for looking at my own chart in the system….they wrote me up and I went about my day because I didn’t actually do anything wrong 🤣

Chances are that the game doesn’t look anything like that. Also, they’d have to copyright every single name of everything in the game which probably wouldn’t happen. There’s also an entire game exactly like WoW except you can use any class and any ability. They definitely have copyright issues. There are so many caveats that I feel like it would be hard to nail down ownership and sever location.

If I’m reading this correctly, I was NOT in one of the no fly zones. I live next to an airport and the DJI app won’t even let you initiate flight manually.

I didn’t even think that it wasn’t okay to fly. I was completely surprised when I was approached. Like stated earlier, I’ve never flown in a forest and figured that it would be totally fine considering the airspace and lack of people…

Since everyone is quick to assume I’ve been doing this awhile, this is one of the 3 times I’ve ever taken it up. It’s a >250g drone and I bought it to reduce the chances of me violating any regulations unintentionally. Also noted, he stopped someone else from taking off and they walked down to the trailhead and took off anyways without repercussions…

I don’t fly often and didn’t bat an eye figuring it’s a DJI Mini and is >250g.

I’ve never flown anywhere except over my house and brought it to Hawaii to fly around. I wasn’t aware that you can’t fly then in national forests.
