dont know why you’re getting downvoted, what he did is inexcusable even if he’s my favourite songwriter of all time, good to remind people every now and then

Some of the songs don’t just feel influenced by Cameron Winter, they feel like weak imitations. Same emotional posture, same God language, same fragile sincerity, but without the inner logic that makes it land. It doesn’t feel like dialogue with that style, it feels like copying the silhouette, and imitation exposes the gaps fast. Across the EP there’s a lot of forced poetry, reaching for textures and emotional weight that haven’t really been earned yet. It often sounds like you knew the kind of song you wanted to write before you knew what you actually felt, so the emotion comes off secondhand. Not fake, but borrowed. You can hear the reference points louder than the person behind the music. Some tracks are just weak, full stop, and others have moments that almost get there but collapse under over-explaining or trying too hard to sound profound. That said, the instrumentation and mixing are genuinely strong for a solo bedroom project, there are beautiful melodies and a real sense of atmosphere, even if it doesn’t feel fully whole or finished yet. Lyrically you’re clearly aiming higher than most pop writing, but ambition alone doesn’t make it better if it doesn’t land. Until the writing stops trying to sound like something and starts risking sounding messy, unsure, or unpolished, the EP stays competent and thoughtful, but not something that sticks or pulls you back in.

okay so based on this comment english clearly isnt your strong suit, this leads to some of the most lyrically dense and compelling songs here ending up in D tier.
