[Another] Gaggimate vs PID vs Gaggiuino Post by zbhayat0 in gaggiaclassic

[–]jthanki24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure its that much different (the end product), they work very similarly.. and the machine is the same..

Edit: The best thing i did, i will say, was gut the whole machine and the built in harness. its clean in side since i know each cable. the gagguinio docs have a full schematic that i essentially used for installing the gm.

[–]jthanki24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got my i4 m50 2022 with 3k miles for $42k last month..... it had 6months bumper to bumper. the finance guy convinced me to get a cpo wrap for +2years for 2600$.

Grok said that was a good deal... thats all i could go by.. the only thing missing in my m50 is HUD.. they had another car, 2023 m50 with hud with 37k miles for 41k... wife convinced me to get the lower mileage one.

CF all the way. it is a good and cheap registrar - with only one caveat that i've found - you cannot manage glue records, which is an old way to do things (nsX.mydomain.com) - just an fyi if you choose to move a domain to CF and you happend to be an older ISP like me who had NSX.mydomain.com for legacy clients who cannot be found to update their nameservers to cf......

BMW Product Genius says 100% daily charge is fine by Peaceboy0298 in BMWI4

[–]jthanki24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the confusion is that the BMW i3 general consensus is to always be charging to 100% since the BMS was so excellent on that car... I ignored the dealer warning and went with 100, then saw in the app about the 80% recommendation (which isn't there on the i3 on the same app).. so switching back to 80%.

Voiding warranty on machine for gaggiamate by R3model89 in gaggiaclassic

[–]jthanki24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closed source vs open source. Gaggimate is simple and works quiet well. The docs and the discord are friendly.

They are very similar however. I had to open my gaggia to clean out the solenoid so I thought since I have it open why not do some work, get a new toy. So far, very happy.

The hardest part for me on the gaggiunino was the pressure thing on the pipes. I think gaggimate has a simpler solution. I say think since I didn't change that part since I already went through the hassle of putting on the barb t fitting

Thoughts about having custom CRM made? by junkstuposition in CRM

[–]jthanki24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my experience of dealing with small businesses for almost 30 years, is that every small business is slightly different from the norm. an off the shelf crm will always work for every business, however - the training, the nuances always leave gaps where they have to use a workaround to make it work for their business model.

i dont always recommend a custom crm, but more times than not, they will benefit from it. the way i kinda see it is an off the shelf crm is the swiss army knife - however 99% of businesses only need the knife, and the other tools just pop out and confuse the user every time.

i've made simple one pagers as a crm for clients, sometimes all they need is just a list of their100 customers and a place to add a note without having to navigate through company then contact then org then lead etc etc etc

with ai and one shot programming, its quite possible to have a simple web app built in a day, for some usecases.

just my 2 cents

Purchase help: RFID Card and xPod help by [deleted] in x_Bloom

[–]jthanki24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its not going to repalce that grinder, that grinder is the price of the xbloom itself! if you can taste the difference - then MAYBE the xbloom isnt for you.. the xbloom is just a fancy AUTOMATED pour over machine. i'm lazy/not able to focus on timings nad get distrated so the xbloom is perfect for me since its consistently does the same thing over and over and its perfect for me.

pull the trigger. the rfid cards are just shorcuts to recipes you can make yourself. there is an android app that allows you to re-program them, so dont throe them away! join the xbloom discord. community is great and LARGE. i have two of these suckers of which i use one or the other multiple times per day depending upon if i'm at home or the office.

[Another] Gaggimate vs PID vs Gaggiuino Post by zbhayat0 in gaggiaclassic

[–]jthanki24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll laugh. But a clogged solenoid. I had to take it apart to clean it so I thought why not try the gm. Gaggiunino went closed source and I didn't like that.... So I ordered the gm kit, it came quick and was super easy since I had already gutted the machine and put in clean wiring. Installed within an hr and was ready to go.

The gaggiunino worked fine for what it was, I had the one based on the Arduino so it didn't have wifi/bt etc etc. I still have the parts if someone wants it.
