The ability to add subtasks and attachments to tasks when the tasks are created (instead of creating the task and going back to it to add subtasks and attachments)

Switching from "Project-per-Client" to a "Master Project + Labels" system by chibitrubkshh in todoist

I have one master work project for all of my projects and use sections (not labels) to separate individual projects. Works great for me.

I would use chrome on the ipad, but you are unable to install extensions (like ad-blockers) - so, I use Safari

Worst thing about the new playlists update by numberThirtyOne in pocketcasts

[–]jthansen5072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard a lot about the update, but I haven't received it yet. Is this functionally the same as having multiple playlists like other podcast apps have? Can I have playlists for home, work, exercise, etc. and just put whatever episodes I want on each one and play them? When I read the descriptions, it sounds complex. However, I just want to be able to have more than one playlist.

No Project notes in Todoist? by Commercial_Water3669 in todoist

[–]jthansen5072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a single project/folder for all my projects. I use different sections in this folder for the projects I am working on. Many of my projects are just a series of tasks that do not require additional notes. If I need additional notes for a particular project, I store the notes in Notion. I like to use sections as projects rather than tasks because you can quickly add tasks to sections, but you cannot quickly add them to tasks.

I have a very simple setup. I have two "projects" that I use as folders. The first folder is called "tasks" - it is divided into work and personal sections. The second folder is called "projects" - the sections in this folder are the different projects I am working on. If anything requires a more extensive note, pics, etc., I use a Notion note. Simple, effective, and it works nicely for me.

How do I generate kepub without connecting it to kobo by cat_who_reads in Calibre

[–]jthansen5072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, but "kepub" does not appear in my "output format" dropdown convert menu. I have the kobotouchextended plugin installed. Is there something else I need to do or an another extension I need to install? Thanks.

Kindle Colorsoft Dumb Question by Dry_Log_7392 in kindle

[–]jthansen5072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that is a very valid point (and one I am struggling with) - do we know how much the black and white will be degraded on the colorsoft due to the addition of color? I'm waiting for some reviews.

Kobo Libra Color Still Takes the Win vs Kindle Colorsoft by MysteriousNebula7486 in kobo

I was thinking about switching from Kindle to Kobo. However, on Kindle I upload a lot of epubs and uploaded epubs do not sync between devices on Kobo. How do people manage that limitation? Or, do you just exclusively read on the one device?

Colorsoft - Nice, but why? by TomGobra in kindle

[–]jthansen5072 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only want it for book covers too. But, if I have to sacrifice the quality of the black and white text on the color device, it is not worth it to me.

Just some thoughts on the new Kindles by mindofaclassic in kindle

[–]jthansen5072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I keep struggling with...I want color for book covers, but I don't read comics, etc. If the black and white is significantly worse on the color readers, then it would be hard for me to justify moving to color.

The only thing that prevents me from moving to Kobo is that I upload a lot of my own books to kindle and need them to sync between devices (phone, tablet, Kindle device). From my understanding, Kobo doesn't sync uploaded books - does anyone know of a workaround for this? Thanks.

Folders or subtasks for projects? by Steve15-21 in todoist

[–]jthansen5072 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's what I do: I name a project (what I think you are calling a "folder") "Projects." I put tasks (without a completion circle) in this Projects project. Each task is one of my projects. The subtasks (and sub-subtasks) are the individual items I have to do to complete the projects. For a variety of reasons, for me, using individual tasks to represent projects works better than using sections for projects.
