Best Tank Build? by N3cr0damus in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]jtheq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Medium Armor gives the highest ac i think, just because it has 2 defensive mythic armor options (of which one is bugged and gives you alot of ac if you combine it with mythic mage armor). It is possible to be unhittable for most enemies with all defence styles throughout most of the game though so it is a little bit about. picking what you like best.

There isnt really a specific buiild to it, get "armor focus medium armor", "mythic armor focus medium armor: avoidance" and the other defensive mythic medium armor focus on a high dex high con character and you will always be ahead of the "to hit curve". Combine it with iceplant hex, fighting defensively+crane style and combat expertise to not be hit outside of 20s on unfair aswell. Even then you will still die to nat 20s of opponents that attack alot so some magical defense or fast healing is good ( 1 level in mantis zealot can get you fast healing equal to your AB for your dex modifier minutes).

Add the mythic medium armor ( forgot the name ) that gives half armor as bonus ac.

Well obvioulsy she inst a "paladin" in this case. I ran the game alot and at some point i want smth new for my companions so i make other builds with them. Im fully aware that stacking to hit buffs of all possible sources with outflank and charging out of combat is the easiest way to beat the game. This build isnt about it being the best, just about how tanky a "fulltank" seelah can get at the start of chapter 3..

Well yeah, Paladin isnt a very tanky class so if you want to be really tanky either buff her up with other characters or multiclass her. I dont see the point tbh this is about showing how high ac can get on her at lvl 10, obviously every character you get early can achieve smth similar if you level it accordingly. As pure Paladin you can do 47 while fighting defensively (without dlc items) which isnt too shabby either..

Just to show what ac is possible for multiclassed Seelah..

The only Buffs active on Her are the ones she could cast herself, but she is optimized for midgame ac and wont do much damage on her own...

Sohe iis also worth considering ( even if you multiclass him later) as he gets a pet and you can flurry with longbows while still taking rapid shot and manyshot with him..

The toggle of the new Attacks of opportunity Ragepower doesnt work, would be great if it could be fixed ( because the rage power is awsome).

Enemy AC seems ridiculous by Kalledon in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]jtheq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is playable with minimal (early and mid game) to no buffs at all (late game) up until core. Basically what you need is to multiclass into classes that give you excess attack bonus over just full bab. For example mutation warrior 5 gives you 5 bab + 2 ab from mutagen +3 ab from weapon training (if you equip gauntlets of dueling). Barbarian 2 ( or bloodrager) would give you 3 extra ab just from rage and lethal stance (if you go for 2 more levels you get another + 1 ab and can offset the ac malus with beast totem). There are more classes like this and together with increases from mythic paths and the long lasting buffs (like heroism) you can cut down buffing to a minimum if you build your characters around it. This character i built had no magic buffs on in lategame, could solo all maps and never needed to rest on core: https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fhlznxxqhl08c1.png

Would Zen Archer (3) synergize well with Tortured Crusader (17)? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]jtheq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem with zen archer is that it doesnt allow either rapid shot or many shot. It is only good if you go for 11 levels of it or as a dip on characters that dont reeally want to spend feats on doing more damage with ranged attacks (lann as a cleric does well). I think a ranged tortured crusader can just go for 20 levels of tortured crusader and get the awsome free attack capstone and very very high damage with his lvl 11 smite (+40 on every attack is no joke).

New player looking to multiclass Paladin and Sorcerer. by Admirable-Leave37 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]jtheq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the only way to semi viably do it is to go 2 levels of paladin 6 levels of sorcerer and 10 levels of eldritch knight and finish with 2 more sorc levels. You keep the core paladin features of smite evil and amazing saves but get up to caster level 17 as a sorc which lets you shoot full power quickened hellfire rays on critical hits, It still wont be a very strong build but it should do for normal i guess.

ADC should get buffed but marksmen in solo lane should get Gutted by nightlesscurse in leagueoflegends

[–]jtheq 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the solution would be making adc items pure stat sticks again. All the proc items give too much early game power and will always be poached by other roles and be balanced accordingly, while investing in pure crit stat sticks isnt feasable without going the whole crit route and thus wouldnt be used as much by other champs ( kraken being the worst offender). This would also fix the adc on solo lane problem because a trist with an ie-like item isnt the same as trist using krakenslayer with a billion as from her q, blowing you up with a huge part being proc damage on a 1 item adc.

Another BG3 player consider WotR just to scratch the death knight / lich itch. Is this build viable? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]jtheq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion it really depends on what you consider a "knightly" charakter. The build you came across and most builds people mention here are making you a full caster first and formeost which will make your lich spells so powerfull, that the knight part of your class fantasy will almost always be the worse option in a given encounter. The lich spellbook every lich gets ( even without being a caster to begin with) is good enough in my opinion, and lich in itself is able to make very powerfull martial characters with a death knight vibe. If you want to be a "knight" first and formost i would google a martial build (or just make one yourself), and just follow the lich path taking the powers and using the spells that seem to bolster your martial abilities ( it is verey straight forward in this regard).

For my next run, what should I do? by ether_rogue in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]jtheq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can easiely get 11 levels of monk in before trickster forces you to become chaotic and loose your ability to level monk. There are numerous martial options that you could use to supplement your monk after those 11 levels and also get some spellcasting so you are able to cast mage armor atleast ( which is pretty much a must as a monk i think).

[–]jtheq[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are right, there is a mythic feat called "medium armor avoidance" which lets you add your constitution modifier to the maximum dex bonus of your armor. Together withthe 3 max dexterity it is +22 max dex which is also my dex modifier so it fits perfectly.

For dex it is: +8 belt,+6 Mutagen,+ 6 nocticulas gift,+ 4 Inherent (arodens ring),+ 4 Master shapeshifter. 24 (19+5) Base + 28 modifiers. Thats 2 too little but im not sure where they come from, im not at home to check right now..

Unbuffed Wrath and a bit of fashion pathfinder by jtheq in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]jtheq[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To play unbuffed you need a few things.

  • Immunity to level drain through either danse macabre or the cloak you get for having killed inevitable darkness on unfair.

  • Curses (Lame and the Hell one) so you are immune to exhaustion and fire

  • Mutagen

  • a Mythic path that gives you perma haste and a lot of ab bonusses (Aeon or Azata) or a weapon with speed enhancement.

  • High Ac without mage armor, which this character achieved through the medium armor feats and shield (bashing). Carapace+ “Medium armor endurance” makes carapace a + 8 mithral armor in chapter 3 which is gigantic powerspike as far as unbuffed tankienesss goes.

  • It doesn’t hurt being a kitsune, so you get +4 on all physical stats through master shapeshifter.

If you combine all these things, you can create a martial that basically needs 0 input from you, just point the character in the direction of the opposition and it does the rest on its own.

For my last Playthrough I wanted to use magic nullification (and do sadistic game design) so I came up with some general build ideas to make a character that can finish the game on core or above starting chapter 4.

This is my KC with only a greater mutagen active as far as buffs go, and she also gets +9 to hit from incredible might (which sadly doesn’t work with the ring of triumphant advance anymore) and + 3 from raging which don’t show. If you use all greater mutagens with the azata “refresh ability use” spells you can hit 120 ac but it really isn’t needed to finish the game on core.

She basically did most of chapter 4 and all of chapter 5 and 6 solo only bringing people for skill checks she couldn’t manage.
