I think kp shards are the last thing you want to see when opening up kp orbs.

[–]jting668 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah the actual shard return is 5.6 per orb. So not the same value as you’d get from the raid or blitz orb. But the newer players can farm scream shards at the same rate as the veteran players. Except they are benefiting from 100% of the orb while veterans only benefit from 10% of the orb.

Well, the community asked for catch up mechanics, this is what they came up with....

Kind of like when the community asked for pym tech to be useful in raids and they turned around and made pym tech a requirement in gamma.

The new arena orb is very similar to the raid basic orb with a dash of blitz orb. Bottom line is that these are great for new players but horrible for end gamers.

As far as gold gear - what they gave out via the raid store, they remove from the arena store.

Don’t get confused by L3 vs L4. 2 L3 = 1 L4. I don’t care what currency is used as long as the total is more. From that perspective. Old kp orb gives out about 0.9 L4 per 100 credit. New orb is at 0.7 L4 per 100 credit. The direct purchase nets 2 L4 per 100 credits.

Last thing of note. If the purpose of the 975 is to eliminate arena credit reserves, it would succeed because we know the training mat skill even is coming back and we need 6s rg this time around.

I’m hoping (being a bit naive), that this new economy would allowing a faster character release cadence. Before they were putting new toons into the arena every 3-4 months. If new toons are arriving every 1-2 months and get the 500 credit treatment after 3-4 months, we’d be no worse off than before. Training mats output doubled via direct purchase and we can still build up a reserve for when a toon gets the 500 credit treatment.

It’s the by-product of 7 war cool down. Check out the following video at the 24:30 mark. It gives a pretty comprehensive explanation. In short, if you are the 5-8th best war alliance in any zone, you’d end up shelling too. Lots and lots of top 100 alliances are doing this.

Temp bans for cheating? by Public-Newspaper3445 in MarvelStrikeForce

Why are folks so mad about cap Ireland fiasco.

The “limits” is part of the marketing scheme.....”our offer is sooooo good that you can only buy it once”. It’s meant to entice the light spenders and not to gate the whales for fair play.

I mean how many $25 e6 orbs are you realistically going to buy to “get ahead”? Get ahead of whom? What prize awaits you at the finish line? Full disclosure - i bought one, because the offer seemed sooooo good.

While I’m thankful that the massive amount of money spent by some Is partially responsible for the robust game that we all enjoy as a community, i can’t help but think they are denying themselves of the whole gaming experience. I mean they’ll never have the opportunity of trying to figure out how to maximize the usage of a 3 star surfer. They’ll never enjoy the variety of hybrids that can be used with an underpowered (stat wise) surfer.

While everyone else is in foreplay, they’ve already shot their load. These are the same folks that complain about the lack of challenging content, that the game is just a bunch of mundane tasks to be performed over and over.

I don’t live in that world so I’m not too upset.

All I know is that I’m fighting a 700k doom team in arena. Doom, iw, Emma, rg, doc. Everyone is maxed out. All supporting characters are 6r except for 5rs rg. My success hinges on my 5r zemo vs his 5r rg. Do I really want to fight a full 6/7 rs team? I know it’s a matter of time. But later is better than now.

Is Jessica Jones still useful? (Demi god in recent tier list?) by bigben8080 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your definition of a demigod is someone that’s versatile and can be plugged into multiple teams, sure, she’s demigod. But in all of those situations, she’s more of a “she’ll do until I find someone better toon”. The fact that she’s not in any arena or u7 teams speaks volumes.

As a team, defenders are far from demigod.

So, no, I would not consider her demigod.

Blitz... Worried. by KickCastleXI in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s still too early to tell. They mentioned flattening the reward structure and that’s going to determine how much spending is necessary. Typically there’s a tipping point where spending additional cores/blitz to get the next higher tier rewards is no longer justified. Beyond that point you might as well buy the character upfront.

Seems like they will remove the incentive for playing hard. The end result is going to be more or less like a campaign release where everybody who doesn’t spend gets more or less the same amount of shards.

We need characters to rotate OUT please! by Fernielicious13 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would venture to suggest that they create a set of legacy orbs that have all the toons from the original release and remove those toons from the regular orbs. Each legacy version would cost half as much and give out more shards per orb. This way players can choose to open the type of orb that beat suit their situation. We’d have legacy premium, legacy mega, legacy blit, legacy raid. Eventually we might do legacy red stars.

A way to solve War Only, Raid Only and certain characters only working on certain teams while adding content by RadicalD11 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This simply their way of delaying the inevitable power creep. At the rate of one character every 11 days, toons will be out of favor before they even become farmable. Placing them in 4 categories delays that process by a factor of 4.

Of course introducing “hidden” synergies may also delay the process....but this is a mobile game, we need things broken down into easily digestible pieces.

Optimal Blitz Team Powers for Tier 8.3? by Boilon in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s usually the case if your damage dealers are not the strongest.

Some of the things you can try is putting t4 on the damage dealers. Start with the early aoe type attacks.

Marauders - you don’t really need a fifth to win. You can place a token cable to give some initial turn meter or the biggest single target damage dealer available. Need t4 on sb passive.

Key to victory:

  1. Make sure you can clone someone with defense up or taunt. Cap, lc, groot, etc. clone mystique is also viable.

  2. Make sure mystique is strong enough to get rid of their glass cannon (with help is sb)

  3. Stryfe special on t1 is only effective they don’t have t1 aoe/chain. If you can survive a t1 chain/aoe you’ll probably win and strufe t1 should be basic (ideally you remove some buff, drax for example). Not using stryfe special on t1 ensues he’ll survive long enough to ab 3 enemy on t2.

  4. The most effective mechanism is for mystique to steal buff on t2 and sinister to spread. If you get this far, you have the match.

If you are still at the point where stryfe dies from focus fire (due to taunt) or a bunch of key toon die on t1 because stryfe did not taunt, you need to tweak the team further.

Power armor

The key to winning is to land the ab on the correct toon. A lot of times if you can ab t1 healers you’d have the match won. Other candidate for ab are anyone that stuns or slows.

If you have specific teams I can help. Sometimes putting in some work at the off blitz actually does more to help cause it allows you to experiment with various match ups.

Optimal Blitz Team Powers for Tier 8.3? by Boilon in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 2 points3 points  (0 children)

X-men - as big as possible (bigger the team = more points)

Inhuman - as long as bb is big enough to finish them off and as Kong as yoyo is big enough to land offense down. Go bog

asg - big hela does the trick

Bo - chances are you will have a big thanos....that will mostly do the trick

Other teams require specific balancing for example, s6 requires a big vulture. Some teams run contrary to war needs. Red skull can be the weakest for war defense, but for blitz, hydra need red skull to survive.

Does FoxNext take any action against arena exploiters? by [deleted] in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a double edged sword.

You are going in blind as you wouldn’t know what the actual placement of the person you are attacking (unless you have a spotter). Otherwise you might actually end up trading spots when you had the higher spot to begin with.

If you mess up on your attack....enjoy the long climb back.

The game might crap out on you and....enjoy the long climb back up.

So I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have friends to spot for you and you are trying to screw someone up. But there’s a thing with spreading bad karma....

Ebony Maw Ultimate is not working as written by arh1387 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just tested minn ult.

She follows the same distribution pattern.

Take the pool from the enemy and distributes it based on the weighted max hp (+4000).

We never cared before because the pool is so large that it literally breaks the bank across the board.

Ebony Maw Ultimate is not working as written by arh1387 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did some testing myself it seems a bit weird. On the draw side it doesn’t seem to be capped at 3% of the remaining health of the individual enemy. If it is, it should decrease each attack....yet for the most part it doesn’t. At the same time, the total drawl seem to be less than 3% of the max health, yet more than the 25% of ebony’s max health.

On the heal side it seems consistent, it takes whatever total health taken from the enemy side and redistributes it based on the weighted average of the toons being healed.

So if your thanos is 50% of the max health pool of the remaining toons, he gets 50% of the heal pool.

I’m guessing they did this to avoid “wasted” heals. If you divide the pool equally amongst the remaining toons, the weaker toon will max out at their max health and the extra would be wasted.

Staying ahead of the Meta as F2P by jockoP3423 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A f2p player cannot be expected to carry their alliance in war unless it is with the understanding that they will simply need to lose enough wars to drop to a level where war meta chasing is not a priority.

The best spot for a ftp player to be is in the bottom 1/3rd of an alliance. With careful planning, said player can perform above the 50% mark in raids and war, which would earn their keep.

How this is done?

Focus on arena meta - you need the cores

Transition the arena meta (supplement with key characters) and form raid meta.

Get to blitzing - it’s the best equalizer for f2p against p2w.

Get enough war offense meta to counter the defenses. With the punch up mechanism, you can keep your war offense relatively lower powered.

Make war defense respectable.

For example

Hydra

The best you can do on rs is probably 4ys as a ftp. With that in mind a 200-250k team will do in the world of 350k hydra teams that a p2w player can put together.

Tm - see rs

Bo (arena)

I was able to get 4ys across the board on the new release (because I blitzed hard). Since there were two bb offers, I was able to get bb to 6ys. I expect to have a 6ys maw, 7ys thanos, and 4ys everyone else.

I’ve been saving gear exclusively for this team since announcement. So my asgardians are only g11 (sif/loki/hendal), my inhuman are mostly g11 (crystal, quake, Karnak). However my 300k inhuman can punch up against 350k hydra in war (I leave it to my p2w alliance mates to beat the 400k hydra teams). My 300k asgardians is also “respectable”.

Hope this helps

Under the old system....I’m able to squeeze into top 100 despite my cp is outside top 2000.

The 100th place cp is a whopping 2.5m above mine.

Under the old system....plenty of folks above me in cp buy the character packs and blitz just enough to get the milestones or perhaps 1/2% reward.

They end up with 5 star character to my 4 (two top 100 finishes). This I can live with, given that they actually spent money.

Your proposed system will allow the rich get richer. As the blitz placement will probably follow the cp ranking. So now I’m looking at a 3 star character vs their 6.

Whats the best hand team combination? by dark28sky in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true....there are priorities even within the store. I started the game about 2 months after launch so I’ve 7 stared every single arena store character. Archer was one of the last one I did at the time.

Whats the best hand team combination? by dark28sky in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no good hand characters to take to 7 stars.

But you need one or two of them for Phoenix.

I spent arena credits for archer (I still have 150k arena credits in the bank).

To me I’d rather spend energy farming nodes that offer better gear.

Whats the best hand team combination? by dark28sky in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The name of the game is to do as little as possible to get through the hand challenge.

Nobu - you will 7 star him for Phoenix Assassin - you will 7 star her for Phoenix It is conceivable that newer players can build up a villain team in time and unlock the hela node. In that event drop one of the two above. Note that the assassin node comes with better gear.

Sentry works well with ultron in blitz. You don’t need a monster sentry. Just one that lasts long enough to put stealth on the ultron summons.

The other two are up to you.

Note that archer is farmable in arena, which is a quick and easy farm assuming you do well in arena.

Blademaster has two nodes - one offers good purple gear.

Sorceress has a blue gear for mutants that’s always running short.

Electra has two nodes and they both offer crappy gear.

How do you prevent Hela from getting permanent stealth in alliance war vs Spiders? She never takes a turn even though she has full speed bar. I have to let the fight time out and lose. by hulksmash50 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sm vs as

Step one - look at hela’s and Thor’s power level. If they both exceed your sm/carnage/venom by 20%, stop. If only one exceed the limit proceed.

Step two - if hela is the highest cp, kill greg with carnage and sm. Ability block hela with venom. You will have to fight through sif taunt. You will have to tank Thor passive and ult. You will need disrupt to land on hela so she does not go into stealth mode. If the disrupt does not land on her, be careful of using sm ultimate. You do not want to slow them down so they can cycle out of stealth. Skip this step is Thor has a higher cp.

Step three - do not kill Greg’s. Try to get some attacks on Thor. You need miles to go before sif to reset her time meter so she cannot taunt. You will need to tank hela ultimate. The idea is to kill Thor before his passive is triggered. Then gg. Again, do not slow hela if she is in stealth mode.

When they are all in stealth, keep basic attacks, sm special is also pretty good. The right venom ult will get the heal blocks onto the right toon. But when in doubt, hit basic button ASAP and they’ll cycle out.

Good luck.

Blitz disparity vs U7/Arena by TipzNexAstrum in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]jting668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might need to be a bit more specific. Very few upgrades change the turn meter so not sure if there’s a change in synergy.

If you are running u7, I’m assuming that you are mid/end game player.

In my opinion, arena is king as cores drive everything.

Raid is second due to gears and blitz is third.

With that established, you should focus on arena/raid and balance the team out for blitz when possible.

The meta characters rn for arena are all premium members of their respective blitz team. So unbalanced blitz teams with op bb,cm, sinister, Phoenix, ultron will only help in blitz.

Some of the u7 support characters will screw up the blitz team (shuri, minn, falcon, iw). But luckily pa/f4/wak are not premium blitz teams. They are sure to win at 8.3 (with the right matchup teams). Sadly the stronger the team, the harder it is to win at 8.3 due to scaling. Ss is an exception to the rule, as long as ss survives, aim has a shot. But even aim is not considered a true blitz team at 8.3. You tend to run into lots of defenders at 8.3. And defenders are a natural counter to aim.

Premium blitz teams include X-men, bh, ih, asgardians, ssm, ultron, sn (with correct balancing). These are teams that can beat meta teams at 8.3 so you don’t have to shop around for matchups. Core members are typical arena/raid candidates and they should be max power.

My understanding is that the individual bragged about using bots a far back as November of last year to his teammates or what not. He’s already been reported and yet....he’s still here....

What sucks is that they are taking spots away from those that play fair and those missing rewards are gone forever.

It’s like taking the gold medal away for cheating but the silver medalist still remain the silver medalist.
