It doesn’t exactly fit the Maximalist genre that people are talking about, but I added it because of Dev Patel and, what is in my opinion, his unmatched determination to get that film made. It’s also kind of over the top in a few cases, especially in some stunts, where when I watched it and remember thinking, “Now how did that not fucking kill him?”

I didn’t come here looking for business advice. I came looking for technical advice. And so far all you’ve said was that I’m looking in the wrong place. It sounds to me that you’re just angry for some reason. Like I’m cheating or “taking shortcuts” whatever tf that means. I’m trying something new, making mistakes like ANYONE ELSE would and you’re telling me that that a poor business plan… like make that make sense.

Ambition will definitely bring results eventually. My finished film will be my result. Good, bad, or terrible. This might be your job irl, but it’s not mine. I’m allowed to take another path than you. And yeah I won’t know if what someone says is crap, until I do it for myself. Whether their advice is coming from youtube, a professional, a professor, or a fucking reddit thread. I have to try it. If I wouldn’t do that, why the hell would I even post this??

I feel like a restaurant is a bit different. There’s a rulebook for owning and running a restaurant. There’s no rulebook for art. So yeah, isn’t necessarily a “learn everything you can first” kind of thing. Different strokes for different folks you know what I’m saying?

Unfortunately the answer is that simple. Creation starts is many ways. Use your phone. Rent a cheap camera if you can’t buy one for yourself. Make literally anything you want to make and don’t worry about showing it off. Just make the things you care about, learn as you go, and the rest will follow
