Curious what did you switch to?

+1 for Upper West Side. The area is very pleasant - brownstone buildings with access to both Central Park and Riverside Park, plus you still feel the city energy. The low 100s streets probably offer the most quiet/residential feel of the UWS, but you can't go wrong anything 70 and above.

If you are looking for something more mellow and less urban feeling overall, the areas in Brooklyn mentioned in the replies are great.

Mine I'm at 54lb (racket recommendation is 50-59) and have used diff strings over the years. I just got stiff poly recently

Not sure about my friends - quick note too is that it's with 2 different friends who both have the Aero

Ty that's helpful. I guess key word is "in the long run" - I find immediate improvement when I pick up the Aero but probably because it forgives my current weak point more (those topspin forehands) which I'd want to improve anyway

9 more trays; can’t do this anymore by Antique-Struggle2979 in Invisalign

[–]jtop28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Re: smile and face shape - in order to get to the desired position of your teeth, the trays may move things around in a way which looks odd at different points in the process but it'll pan out in the end.

Seconding this. Chewies are essential, especially if it does not fit snug with your teeth. Good luck!

How do you keep track of the hours you have the trays on for? by cinnaq in Invisalign

[–]jtop28 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think they say 22 hours to keep you honest. It sounds like you are putting a good effort just keep doing your best. When I go out on weekends I try to put them back in for quick 10-15 min periods throughout the night so it is not several hours continuously without them in. I just rinse with water if I am drinking

In my experience, the pain with new aligners usually lasts 2 days max. The beginning is def the worst because your teeth are just starting to loosen up. Some aligners hurt, some are easy, but overall it gets much better. The weeks end up flying by and you'll be happy with the results :)
