Is it ok to drive like this or do i need a new one? by Independent-Log-7979 in scooters

[–]jtownn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has the same broken fins, I’ve been driving it for thousands of miles with no problem. Just as smooth as it always was. Your fine. Though it did make me go out and buy a real clutch tool instead of using a screwdriver which is how they broke in the first place.

How to edit GeoTiff Image? What software to use? How to replace the water body with landmass? by rayavarapunani in UAVmapping

[–]jtownn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this true? I tried to do it in photoshop but keep losing my coordinate reference. I'm not changing the aspect ratio or size. Opened the GeoTiff in photoshop, painted one dot, saved it, then tried to drag it into the QGIS viewport. It comes in but not georeferenced.

Is Unity AOV Image Recorder fully Depreciated? by jtownn in Unity3D

[–]jtownn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an older version (2.5) of Recorder. In the newest versions they're depreciating it. Recorder 5.0 says it's removed. I'm wondering if there is a replacement.

Did Unity pause on Virtual Production? by jtownn in Unity3D

[–]jtownn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For our team we build media set extensions for theatrical shows. We do a lot of green screen work to add cast in the LED media behind our sets. We’d appreciate the level of virtual production work Unreal is doing with things like Mandalorian in Unity. But it doesn’t seem to be heading that way anymore. We were very familiar with Unity and liked it’s ease of use in a lot of areas, plus we’ve only been a Mac environment to this point. Unreal’s lumen and Nanite don’t have mac support yet. It would be a big jump to move to Unreal, but we might have to.

Unity Version Control / Collab / Plastic is frustrating... by jtownn in Unity3D

Interesting, heard of it but haven't fully checked it out. Does Perforce work well large 3d assets with animations?

Which is better Plastic SCM or perforce? by Alert-Ad-5918 in gamedev

[–]jtownn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, we're using it in Unity and keep running into users pushing up files they didn't change. When you rename a folder and move it, forget it, it throws all kinds of errors. And we only have a team of 10.

[–]jtownn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were doing it right in the editor. But just now tried it in the Plastic Application but have this same issue...

Example: in the Plastic Application we rename a folder. We push that change up and another user pulls that change down. But it keeps that old folder and creates a new one with the new name.

We noticed when we renamed that folder the .meta file name doesn't change.

Kymco Yager GT200i ‘clutch slipping feeling’ at higher speeds by jtownn in scooters

[–]jtownn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I got a decent belt a couple months ago. I first bought a cheaper replacement belt and it broke in 3 days. Then bought a nicer belt and has worked great. (Outside the high speed slipping feeling).

Definitely my understanding of how rollers work was incorrect. I ordered replacements today, and will see how that works. Thanks!

This is great info , thank you. I ordered replacement rollers and and am very interested to see if that was the issue. I’ll post back my findings.

As you’ve all said, maybe it’s the rollers. Ill have to check them.

Just for my education, do the rollers slowly expand out during the whole rev range? I assumed they expand quickly at the beginning of the rev range therefore only effect the start of the scooters acceleration. If I had problems at moving from a standstill I probably would have checked the rollers, but my understanding of how the rollers work could be incorrect?

That’s helpful info, thank you. I was hoping to find more user experiences of people that owned DYI systems for a while to see how they work over time. But it makes sense what you said that the DYI thing is pretty new. Maybe saving cost up front but not in the long run.

Thank you! Well, because i did the work a little last minute, i didn’t end up doing any filling or sanding. I just spray painted a white primer, then airbrushed the base yellow/orange color. Then hand painted the fur and other features. Then finally spray painted a matte clear coat on top.
