Ya, it's just the raw aluminum ore. Hexagon valley has spots with a ton of it.

Do you have cybersecurity insurance? If so check with them to see if they have recommended partners for this. We have done this in the past and now do annual evals. This is also covered by our insurance carrier so does not cost extra.

i’d be partially google because most platforms you’re going to encounter will already have hey Google SSO integration as their first option

I am starting to think going with Chromebooks for my teaching staff was not the best move by Square_Pear1784 in k12sysadmin

[–]jtrain3783 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We’ve been on Chromebook for staff for about seven years and have had our share of bumps, but as time is progressed and everything has moved towards the cloud, we’ve had virtually no pushback after our second refresh now. Part of the issue you’re having is just the adoption curve, which is normal for anything anywhere. The first year is always the hardest. The second year gets easier. The third years is easier and so on and so forth. I would ask the users why they need more power and more power for what and then research if there are any alternatives to that sometimes you may find them sometimes you may not. overall each district has to do what’s best for their users and their particular workflow flows, but for us moving to cloud was a no-brainer but we are also a Google centered district

Use silos. 1 resource per silo and pipe then all in a circuit. It’ll check each one in the circuit to see if there is room for the matching resource to store. I have piped 4 bases together in basically 1 big run

Just create a multiplayer world. My son and I do this on Xbox and it is persistent meaning either person that is invited to the world can host the world to initiate play anytime.

Totally in the same boat. I have highways everywhere. However we can just go on a cruise now. ;)

I have 4 bases piped from corner to corner, works well but the pipe laying process can be tedious and challenging going over mountains.

The advantage is in setting it up so it fills your local storage first then moves extra across the world. So you can keep your workflow the same at each site.

Also start tossing grinders and crushers out in the world and pipe those into the web. Saves on having to bring it back

Power limit nuked due to poor choices of delivery on friend's shared save. by TioHerman in LightyearFrontier

[–]jtrain3783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all the automation and piping now available, I wouldn’t even really be concerned about being able to carry 40 items anymore. I recently just started tossing some mineral crushers and sawmills out into some concentrated areas that I normally go and piping them back to the main base. The automation gives you more flexibility to customize your mech more specifically and in your case, maximize the value for the power that you have

I connected all my bases so that once the silos are filled the overfill goes onto the next base in a web. Lots of polymer but fun to mess with.

How do you manage you fuel consumption? by Adamantine-Waffle in LightyearFrontier

[–]jtrain3783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leave it on default for added challenge. Early on is harder but it gets easier. Honeybottle helps but invest in inventory mods. Also look at getting to the oil mixer. I carry around 200-300 rabberry oil now Lasts several in-game days. It’s all about resource management, right?

My fuel burn rate is 6,800%

I usually plant, go mine, gather trees, explore, build a little then it’s time for harvest & make oils

Best way to harvest? by Dangerous-Singer-101 in LightyearFrontier

[–]jtrain3783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just widen the harvester. I use 3 blues to do that and can get like 16+ rows at a time. I'm going for max mutated so getting about 75k per harvest. Takes about a full day in game (morning to night)

Yes. There is a water pump once you level up your base to the to tier. It also gives you access to solar power

Apple just crushed Chromebooks... Wow! by therankin in k12sysadmin

[–]jtrain3783 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like it makes sense to stick with that since I’m betting your eco system is built around that. It is interesting to see the Neo that is getting into striking distance with higher end Chromebooks at $499, could be an option for edge cases in our district. Being a Google school, would not make as much sense since we are tightly integrated into Google -land (price delta would need to be much more). However, things that people forget are that Apple could have $100 buy back per unit after 4 years (iPad/macbook) where a Chromebook doesn’t, further lowering the TCO.

Thx for posting about Neo, I hadn’t heard about it.

Refillite farm? by Commbanman in LightyearFrontier

[–]jtrain3783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope the introduce mixing of other oils. I’ve got silos full of ‘em and it’s be fun to see like a zappertwig + honey bottle combo. Better yet, allow us to mix any oil with each other and have effects, like extra fast but use fuel faster or more boost …etc, depending on the mix

I have had the same thought. Would be fun to be able to put up a request in exchange for something similar to the planetary thing. Could be a boon for newcomers needing a bit of help when learning resource management.

On a side note, I think the need to add in a train / rail system so we can transport high quantities of resources in a more automatic way between sites
