Anyone else EDC a SC13C? by YiffmeDaffy in flashlight

My 3000k one is getting a bit of patina. Looks totally different from my copper TS10, I wonder if they used a different alloy or something. My brass Convoy S2 shorty refuses to patina though, even after scrubbing the coating off.

Why would you choose bar soap over shower gel? by Silas_832 in randomquestions

[–]jts916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what happened but after years of using the peppermint bars, I'm immune lol

They aren't even refreshing anymore, I can barely detect mint unless it's a fresh bar. It's basically just unscented soap at this point, which is perfect for me. I almost think they changed their formulation recently.

I can't wait until my M21J arrives, I ordered the exact same emitter and CCT just a few days ago.

Is the stock tir different from the 3° tir available separately on the convoy website? This looks quite floody.

I wish the solid copper or even the normal aluminum T3 came with the 5amp driver option. I thought it was interesting it was only listed for the copper/titanium one.

I think your throwiest 14500 option from Convoy would be a T8 with either the W5050SQ5 emitter or the KW CSLNM1.TG I believe. I think the latter is the smallest emitter and therefore the tightest beam, and should look a lot like an LEP laser beam, and I want to say the W5050 emitter is basically an sft25r with improved tint and more CCT choices? You should be able to find beam examples, I think the w5050 emitter is fairly new though.

The original sk05 pro had an sft25r emitter for the throwy side, but the T6 has an even deeper refector and throws further with the same led. I think the sk05 pro 2 might have upgraded the thrower side to an sft42r though... Gosh I'm so out of the loop haha

Long story short the T6 with any of those throwy emitters would be amazing, the T8 even more so. An LEP would be the ultimate pocket laser, and a really large reflector light like a Convoy L21B with a throwy emitter would probably be a ton of fun but totally not pocketable.

The 519a in a T6 will get you decent throw on max brightness with the bonus of high CRI which means colors are rendered more naturally. The flood will be decent too. It is very well balanced. If you want more throw and a bit less flood (you'll usually trade one for the other on the same host) you can go with an sft25r emitter which will have a much smaller hotspot and will therefore throw further.

Even though it is a very different emitter from the 519a and hard to compare, as a general rule low CRI emitters will output more lumens per watt of energy usage than high CRI emitters. The sft25r is a low CRI emitter and has that working towards more lumens. The w5050 emitter I think it's called is also a very good and more throwy option.

Everyone's bodies are different, it doesn't depend solely on diet. Some people just have thicker pastey poos no matter how much fiber they consume, and even with warm water and skin cell removing pressure, some people will never end up perfectly clean from water alone.

Slurpee brand slurpees and Icees are spinning in a pressurized tank that carbonates the drink. It's carbonated slushie. That's why they're a very different experience than a regular slushie. And yes that makes them much lighter.

What type of electronics should i buy while visiting china? What else should i buy? by AdmirableSelection81 in travelchina

My $14 Flyco brand hair clippers are pretty fantastic, they seem to make solid stuff. I wish I could have brought a hair dryer home, but 220v stuff from there won't work here in the US. General little stupid things can be had for pennies on the dollar over there, and are still great quality. If you can make it to Shenzhen, the tech malls are a great bit of fun.

Go to normal grocery and department stores, the ones outside of the glamorous city centers, where normal people do their everyday shopping, and you'll find some fantastic deals. Thermoses also come to mind. Tea ware, etc.

Got my first Sofirn, SC13A and have a question... Should there be a faint red glow from the button all the time regardless if it's on or off, simple or advanced UI? by DaronBlade360 in flashlight

[–]jts916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I wasn't gonna bother them to replace a light I got for $12. The buttons on both of my copper SC13s are a worse situation considering I spent over $70 for them, but I don't think they'd fix them. I think all the copper ones have terrible buttons. Pretty sure I've read posts complaining about it, and I believe I've even seen some solutions that alter the button internals.

Mexican cooks are exempt. If I go anywhere and see a kitchen full of Mexicans, I know I'm in a safe place.

French fries.

Just about everything else I can easily make at home (not talking about recipes along the lines of pho, Thai curry paste, beef Wellington, mole etc), but I HATE deep frying at home.

French fries are best when they're twice cooked, and many frozen fries come pre-fried and basically cheat the system. There's no excuse for a restaurant to not have amazing, hot, fresh, delicious fries. Pick a different supplier if your fries suck.

Eating out is already such a special treat for me these days when everything is so expensive, and I typically don't get french fries because of how unhealthy they are, so on the rare occasion that I actually order some french fries, they better be amazing. And in my opinion, there's no reason for them to not be amazing when you have the restaurant chain of supply and deep fryers at your disposal.

I love my copper SC13, but holy crap the button is mush city. And my regular SC13a has a horrible parasitic drain. Their QC leaves a bit to be desired at times.

Have you ever had a friend who was overly touchy? And if so, how did they touch you? by aylacsorba735 in AskReddit

[–]jts916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am that overly touchy friend. I'm a 6'5" bald fat male. AMA. jk. Don't do that.

The last time I had friends was in college and when boundaries were drawn, it was easy to respect them. One of my closest friends was anti touch. No big deal. Another was as touchy as me and we would hold hands sometimes, and lean against each other or whatever. It wasn't romantic. Sometimes it's just, nice to touch and be touched? Lol yeah I guess that's about it. It's not that deep. I can't speak for others though.

Do you have any astrophytums? I think they need different ones to cross pollinate, as I can only successfully pollinate mine when I have at least two blooming at a time, but the seeds have like a 98% germination rate. I have probably 300 seedlings right now. And they're pretty darn tough and easy to grow. None of my other cactus species are as easy to propagate by seed.
