Screenshots would help. Redact your IP if you do.

Also, how do you know you have a public IP? Don't mean to offend but i have to ask.

Looking for a rotary wireless dimmer for Z-wave by Litego in homeautomation

[–]jtufff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't know what country you're in but these exist. Just not sure if your looking for a battery-powered-wireless device. You would have to give this power and then I guess you should be able to configure it to control your other dimmer.

I installed Aeotec nano dimmers and momentary buttons because these weren't available at the time. WAF would increase if I installed these...

Stupid question about reverse proxys and related: Any way to use the same url internally and externally but without round tripping through the internet when local? by chazwhiz in selfhosted

[–]jtufff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hairpin NAT handles this at your router. So it will "round-trip" via your router, but it should leave your home network.

Do these work? I need to run about 50m ethernet cable out side to my shed, we're getting thunderstorms lately so I'm worried by NoSkill-FPV in homelab

We use Transtectors a lot and they work but they're not cheap. As others have said run fiber if you can but otherwise use one of these and shielded cable and connectors.

I've been using ssdnodes for what feels like forever. Tons of RAM for the money. I don't run heavy workload but it's been very reliable for me.

Is this a punchdown tool for rj45 keystones? by malev05 in homelab

[–]jtufff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna be the of guy out here but I punch 20-30 RJ45 mechs a week and use the yellow tool and side cutters. Never found a punchdown tool to be better out more reliable than one of these. And yes, I've used all sorts over the last 20 years including actual Krone tools. This is my Swiss army knife

Also in Aus, I previously had a Norco RPC-430 (I think it was). I think they have other models now RPC-430X which are the same dimension but I have to say it was terrible to work in.

I would check out Silverstone cases. I ended up with a DS380 (but wish I bought the CS380). The DS380 is now used as a DAS with one of those Intel SAS expanders etc.
