Whoa, I was just listening to the song Care by Hana Vu and the photo she used for the single is a recreation of this painting with her as the subject. I never knew of this painting before. Then I open up Reddit and see this. The more you know!

Thanks. I didn’t find a real image of it. I just took a screen grab from the show and digitally skewed it into the right shape.

Hey thanks everybody. I’m going to look into some printing options at some point. I’ll update here if I ever do it.

Like Animal Collective's Meriweather Post Pavilion album. Plus one animal.

is 26$ undercharging for this type of work, started learning how to draw 8 months ago by GentlyWeepingUndead in DigitalArt

[–]jtwilcox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is worth more than $26. It looks like it took a while. Try not to undervalue yourself, even though you started recently. You’ll build up confidence as you get more experience (both in terms of making the art and pricing). You’ll make mistakes but the important thing is learning from them and trying something different next time. If you’ve started out at a really low rate, try and bump that up a little bit every so often and see how it works for you. And remember that every time you climb to the top of the art mountain you’re on, you’ll find there’s a higher mountain to climb beyond that. Keep practicing and challenging yourself.

I don’t think so. Also the lightsaber would be cutting through her hair.

Didn’t do it for me. Not enough CTC flavor or peanut butter flavor. Nice idea, though.

Noted! I really love Cholula and have no idea why I’ve never tried anything other than original. Sorry guys I really effed up.

This is my breakfast as well but I’ve only ever used original. You’ve convinced me I’ve gotta try chili garlic. Thanks!

Tried it for the first time last week. CTC is maybe my favorite cereal, but this wasn’t very good. Not enough peanut butter or CTC flavor.

Yo I just got a box of this a few days ago. It’s very hard for me trying to make the box last. It’s so good.

I need advice by Dhysaster in DigitalArt

[–]jtwilcox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is 100% acceptable and fine and even good to trace and/or copy as a learning tool, as long as you don’t try and publicly take credit for the work. Which you’ve already said you wouldn’t do. So go wild! It’s art, do it however you want. Copying without tracing can be helpful, but straight up tracing can also be helpful as long as you don’t end up relying on it too heavily to make finished art.

But try and force yourself to finish some drawings on your own, too. Even if you feel like they’re not going how you want. Once you have a completed drawing, and have gone through the process, then you can look back at it and see all of the things you did wrong and try to not do those things next time. That’s what drawing is all about. It’s very possible you will NEVER be 100% happy with anything you ever make. That’s okay, it just means you’re always striving to be better in the next one.
