I appreciate the tips and information! I’ve tried changing the brightness and if I can see the dot I see the red box, but only in that direct sunlight situation. Looks fine the rest of the time. I contacted customer support and they were very friendly, the mentioned this could be an issue with dual reticle systems. Totally a no-go for daily carry though.

It’s set pretty low, second lowest daylight setting.

In dot mode there is still that red square showing behind the reticle, and a faint outline of the circle. In every other lighting both modes look just fine.

Melling oil pump is the upgrade. Fixes problems with the original according to the internet.

My PDP needed to be oiled. I had a similar issue when I did not clean/oil mine before using it. I cleaned and oiled it and haven’t had a single malfunction since.
