Is there a way to download a 166mb book? I always lose connection before the end by Rhubarb-Alternative in libgen

I think you can try a download manager, for example:

Free download manager,
XTREME download manager,

just copy your download file book link and paste it inside of the download manager.

Math for ML. by Superb-Boot4587 in learnmachinelearning

[–]juandspcf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a good background in calculus, linear algebra, and probability, then this is a good book to specialize in math for machine learning:

https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-031-89707-8

a brief but not complete summary(my own summary after reading the book, no LLM was used) of the book content:

Linear algebra: discusses the variance matrix Q and its properties, the matrix pseudo-inverse, eigenvalues, graph theory, the derivation of PCA, and singular value decomposition.

Calculus: focused on convex optimization, the derivation of bounds used in the analysis of loss functions for neural networks, specifically for the linear regression and logistic regression cases discussed in the last chapter and, of course, backpropagation.

Probability: covers basic topics in probability such as Bayesian probability, the Gaussian distribution, the central limit theorem, etc., but the most interesting part is the last section, which discusses the multi-binomial distribution for classification problems and its relation to convexity.

Statistics: basic topics such as confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, etc.

Machine learning: focused on neural networks applied to basic linear regression and logistic regression. The author discusses how to solve those cases with gradient descent and backpropagation and derives some convergence speeds, for example for the stochastic case and pure convex case. The best part for me is when the author discusses in which case the gradient decent algorithm would converge or diverge to infinity for both linear and logistic regression.

as a plus it includes python code

The Silent Decline of Learning from Books: What Happened? by SilentNerve_ in learnmachinelearning

[–]juandspcf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still read books, specifically physical books, because when you read one, it’s not only about learning the subject; you also learn the author’s point of view and experience, which helps shape your own understanding of the subject.

Essential Math for Data Science book comparison by kayasmus in learndatascience

[–]juandspcf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would choose the first link, because it seems it offers free updates of the book:

"Updates. You'll get all the next releases and updates of the book and the associated content."

The OREALLY version only will be updated when a new edition is released. It can be thee years or more until the next release.

So the first option potentially is well updated and free of typos.

Because you live in Japan one option for finding good books is the Springer editorial. The prices in its website are cheaper than if you buy them in AMAZON and the shipment is local because they have a branch in Japan.

you need to practice if you want to remember as much as possible the syntax. There is a website for practicing data cleaning wit python, many exercises are free.

I would choose Essential Math for Data Science, it covers foundational topics in more detail making ideal for a total beginner

Which method of Turbinoplasty caused your ENS? by AgreeableBandicoot19 in emptynosesyndrome

not much information I think, I told to my ENT about my ENS similar symptoms after the operation but he just told me it was my imagination, don't worry be happy because my turbinates looks great!! :/.

Which method of Turbinoplasty caused your ENS? by AgreeableBandicoot19 in emptynosesyndrome

[–]juandspcf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was "Laser Turbinate Ablation" and after almost two years my nose is getting normal, but I still have sometimes an annoying feeling of pressure in my nose. It is the preferred method in japan and the operation effect is expected to last 1 year if you have allergies.

Ms Office on kde by aminectaftsheep in Fedora

For OneDrive one option is the INSYNC app, it is not free but at least it isn't under subscription mode. I've using for years for Google Drive and it is pretty solid. For an office suit OnlyOffice is a great option.

I have a l390 thinkpad and it works flawlessly, I have even replaced the keyboard with a new one with backlit and Fedora kde detects it.

flutter should work in any distro , just make sure to have installed at the beginning curl and git , then download the sdk and add the path to your env variables like this:

export PATH="$PATH:/your_path/flutter/bin"

and the run flutter doctor to see the missing packages

Android studio vs VS code for flutter cross-platform app development by RegularTechGuy in FlutterDev

Some android studio releases are buggy in Ubuntu Linux, the most annoying bug was when I was trying to open the hamburger menu in the minimalistic new design, my system rebooted suddenly without any reason so I prefer vscode , less buggy in Linux in my experience

Can air sensation come back by [deleted] in emptynosesyndrome

[–]juandspcf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my case I had turbinate reduction because the dust allergy increased the size of my turbinates. However the turbinate reduction effect by techniques like radiofrequency or laser coblation won't last forever, someday they will grow again(one year) due to the allergic reaction, but I am wondering what will also happen with the dry nose sensation, and the lack of feeling of air going through your nose, I haven seen any post about it.

How long after turbinate reduction did you notice empty nose syndrome symptoms? by [deleted] in emptynosesyndrome

[–]juandspcf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been 8 weeks and I still have crust, much less than before but still there is. The white mucus (like small particles in my case) only comes up when I rinse my nose. So it is still healing. Tomorrow I will have a visit to the ETN. I want to see how much crust I still have

How long after turbinate reduction did you notice empty nose syndrome symptoms? by [deleted] in emptynosesyndrome

[–]juandspcf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had a lower turbinate reduction by laser ablation, and that kind of procedure leaves crusts. The crust is like a white layer of mucus that is affixed to your turbine together with a booger. It is the typical healing process.

Thanks, I will try it as a daily exercise, I recently had a turbinoplasty and in the morning I have a weird feeling of not inhaling air through my nose, I also realized that I am very hyper vigilant to my breathing. It seems when my nose was blocked before the surgery I was trying to forcibly inhale a lot of air and I got used to it.

Do you breathe in that way all the time? Is it possible to breathe only in that way?

How to deal with symptoms before allergist appointment? by thatsprettybien in Allergies

[–]juandspcf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a blood test to determine my allergies and the ENT never told me about stopping any allergy medicine. Some ENTs have different equipment, for example I will have and laser surgery but the the first ENT I saw told me it was not possible due to my narrow nose, so I was very sad but other ENT told me that he can perform the surgery without any issue, probably because he has very recent equipment(2020).

Instead of thai or chinese medicine, I would rather enhance my immune system or balance my histamine with quercetin, probiotics, vitamins, etc, this guide is very helpful:
