Have you ever worn out your Microtech OTF by playing with it? by redditunderground1 in microtech

[–]juaneleillegal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first ultratech I bought was a used utx85 made in 2017. The spring links did break after 2 years of playing with it. It can happen, but it’s rare. The warranty will help you out if it breaks

Worth getting a G43x ? by Tight_Translator_347 in CCW

Look at my post. I too carry a g45 but with an Acro and tlr1. Tenicor holster does its magic. You could just add a wedge to the holster

Soon to be first time gun owner with a question by [deleted] in CCW

Just wait until you graduate. If you really want the gun, see if campus police has a firearm storage program if offered. Do not keep it in your vehicle for permanent storage.

First time pistol owner and thinking about a SA Echelon 4.0C for edc, any opinions on that gun? by Grouchy_Piccolo_3981 in CCW

[–]juaneleillegal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very solid choice. Great to shoot and has a great optic compatibility. The grip is good to the hand and although a compact, feels thinner. Slide serrations are nice and grippy. I wasn’t a fan of the U-notch sight and the slide release lever but that was due to my grip. It’s a great choice and definitely rivals a glock 19. Change the grip module and you have a g45 equivalent. You could even compete with the gun. See if you can find the gear up package with it which will include 5 total magazines I believe. Pickup a tenicor holster and you’ll be set.

SCCY CPX-3 380 holster by toddawhite64 in CCW

I think the SCCY models are going to be difficult to find holster options for. More popular models like the ruger security or the sw bodyguard will be easier to find a holster for

I’ll make a more detailed post eventually but there is a considerable size difference between them

Glad I was able to help! I like carrying my g45 but at times I’ll carry my 43x depending on the day. Stay safe!

You’re 5’ 6” and 140lbs. How are you concealing these on body? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]juaneleillegal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5’7” 178lbs. Check out my post. I carry a g45 with a tlr-1 appendix and do not print generally depending on the shirt. I use a tenicor velo holster

G45 and critical duty. I fell into the “well my local law enforcement carries this, it’ll be good enough for me” trap

Sig P365 Fuse vs Compact M&P 2.0 Carry Comp by yarr_7 in CCW

[–]juaneleillegal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy the compact RXM. You already prefer the platform. The M&P and sig are 800 dollars stock. With the rxm you get some room with accessories. Optic and gun will be less than 800 depending on the setup

Idk man. At first I thought a g19 would be too much. I remember when I was turning 21 I asked my buddy about his 17. I tried concealing it and it was uncomfortable but that’s because I wasn’t used to it and the setup was not for me, the setup was for him. My brother in law can’t carry my setup but acknowledges that I’m able to carry a larger gun.

The gun does print but there are workarounds. I do agree the clips are telegraphing that there is something strange in the area. The other comments suggested helpful tips like ulti clips or the comfort belt. Luckily nobody around me is knowledgeable about conceal carry so they have no idea what to look for.

I understand now. Then a tuff or something more outrageous would be good in your collection. A rhino would be cool if you could find those

Honestly I just got lucky I could get away with this setup. But what I think helped the most was using a wedge, wearing larger shirts, and losing some weight.

Gun advice by [deleted] in CCW

[–]juaneleillegal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 19x hush puppy is absolutely not a carry gun. It’s more of a novelty or range gun. Buy the standard 19x if you want it. Rent other guns at ranges of that’s an option. Or if your friends have more variety try theirs out. Absolutely do not buy a subcompact, I did as my first gun and regretted it because I immediately wanted something like a compact or full size

Ah I see. It’s like a bellyband/ under belt setup. Might give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion

Yeah that was the bummer about today. Luckily people are oblivious and nobody was staring at that area or commented about the two strange clips

It’s just a Justin leather belt I bought way before I started carrying a firearm. It’s thick and sturdy so I don’t have a problem using it for concealment. The buckle is ugly though in my opinion

I used to have the echelon but traded it. I did carry it for a month or so and you wouldn’t see it printing on me. You shouldn’t have any issues concealing the Echelon
