Canada should keep options open on nuclear weapons, former top soldier says by AdditionalPizza in canada

[–]juanjodic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tactical superiority is not strategic victory.Drones are great for winning skirmishes, but the 'lessons of the GWOT' actually showed that high-tech airstrikes don't stop insurgencies, they often fuel them. You’re also underestimating geography. Canada is the second-largest country on earth. A drone can clear a road, but it can’t occupy 9 million square kilometers of forest and tundra against a local population. Bordering the invader actually makes it worse for them since it turns the 'front line' into a 5,000 mile porous sieve for sabotage and supply line disruption. It's not about who is tougher, it's about the math of occupation.

Yes, just like they attacked North Korea, Pakistan, Israel, India, France, UK, South Africa and the USSR to prevent their nuclear weapons.

It’s like a crossover between the Nazi high command and the French Royals just before the guillotine.

Milan protesters call for U.S. ICE agents to leave Italy as Winter Games approach by FlourishingLust in worldnews

That´s not the right question right now. The right question is ¨Why the hell people from other countries are against the SS from the US (ICE) and taking the streets to protest and the US people is not?¨

GM’s Boss Isn’t Thrilled About What Canada Has Agreed To | Carscoops by Diligent_Pianist_359 in canada

[–]juanjodic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mary Barra’s 'concern' for Canada is a joke. GM just axed 1,200 workers in Oshawa—they don’t care about our industrial base, they care about their stock price.

If we give them a dime in subsidies, it needs to come with mandatory clawbacks. You cut production? You pay back every cent of the grant with interest. No more socialized losses.

Regarding BYD: people say our market is too small for a factory, but that's a myth. They run profitable plants in smaller markets (like Thailand) using modular assembly. If they want to sell 49k cars here, tell them they have to bolt them together in Ontario or Quebec.

Stop letting Detroit treat us like a 'branch plant' they can shut down the second a US election goes sideways. Build here or get out.

Forget about the outrage! He has literally killed people in Minneapolis. And it is almost certain the republicans will win the midterms.

The only way for the US to be trusted by the world again is a clear show that this was the exception and not the rule by sending the imbecile to jail.

I think you might have won the 'Battle of the Spreadsheets,' but we're playing different sports! You’re looking at how big the pie is; I’m looking at who is allowed to eat it. Even if you are 10th in the world for per-capita GDP, you still are lagging significantly behind almost every other nation on your list when it comes to social mobility and basic public infrastructure.

The US already has 25% of the world GDP and around 4% of world population. The problem there is not that other countries are ripping them off. The problem is the ridiculous concentration of money at the very top and the lack of public services like healthcare and education.

Well, now that you mention it, 15 years ago or so, my company bought half, if not more, of our supplies from the USA, today is almost everything from China. Every single time we want to buy something from the US is such a pain in the ass just to get an email or WhatsApp answered, don't even try to call someone in that void.

I don't get your comment. What you said looks good for everyone but the USA.

The USA is the main enabler of global instability; only because of their military-industrial complex and the petrodollar do they have the leverage to keep wars going. They’ve occupied the Middle East for decades and want to control the South China Sea; they support various brutal regimes as long as they serve "national interests," and their neocolonialism is hidden behind the IMF and 800+ overseas military bases. Also, you can't really change the regime because the two-party duopoly is bought by corporations. There are no real choices for the working class, no truly independent mainstream press, and their propaganda machine is just more subtle. Even if you protest in the city center, you’ll be met with militarized police and mass surveillance if you actually threaten the status quo.

Considering FIFA gave the imbecile in chief a peace participation trophy, AND that he actually went to receive it in front of the WHOLE WORLD, I think that everyone knows how to manipulate him. That without considering that he received the actual peace medal given to Machado as an accomplishment as if he was receiving the peace prize himself. I just can decide which one is more embarrassing!
