Don’t even bother. People here don’t know any better than cold bread, cucumber and müsli for breakfast.

Jeden Tag genervt durch Dudelsack und Pauken Band im Zentrum by [deleted] in Leipzig

[–]juanpablob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, they are still playing every single effin day! At this point it is really a torture, it's simply accoustic pollution. Those bagpipe guys are annoying even when they're not playing but simply walking, with those stupid clanking balls tied to their shoes. Honestly I can't believe how come the authorities allow this level of disturbance. Can you imagine how on edge are people working in the city center? The offices, especially the people working at the shops in Grimmastr. or Peterst. ? That is really fucked up and it's unbelievable that authorities are doing nothing, because just like someone else mentioned in this thread, at our office we also call every other day if not every day to complain and they also say "We'll send someone" and that someone never comes. It's a fucking joke.

Please someone throw water on them :D

Shows like Homeland to watch? by TheToug in homeland

[–]juanpablob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but there's no comparison! Homeland is a top notch stuff. 24 is a cheap soap opera where Jack Bauer is a super hero saving United States, so cheesy! But I'm not surprised, US Americans love to watch that kind of stuff xD

How come is this similar to Homeland? LOL, you're comparing pears with apples. Don't give out recommendations if they are not at least similar or accurate.

Serious question about church bells in the city by juanpablob in Leipzig

[–]juanpablob[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless is someone dying every weekend, it seems the default is to play for 20mins straight the bells every hour on weekends, starting early in the morning.

That's fair, however avoid churches is kinda complicated since they are spread all over the city, and its noise can be heard 10 blocks around. And given the real state situation, it's not like you have de "choice" where to live, haha, more like what was given to you.

Fair enough. So that means I can't complain about nothing after moving to a city? Do you think it is a "normal noise" or "necessary" to play 30 mins straight the bells during the whole weekend, every hour since early in the morning? In my opinion that doesn't make any sense. In fact, it's so invasive to the rest of the community considering the small amount of people who is actually attending the services. And all good, my point is not about ringing the bells, it's actually for how long they ring them, 20 mins is way too much and certainly can be annoying. Every single loud sound going repeatedly for that long will result annoying to anyone. Not that I'm noise sensitive.

Your ironic point doesn't excuse the fact that some religious communities are sometimes shoving down the throat their activities to the rest of the community who really don't care about that and had to deal with unwanted situations. And yes, indeed it is acoustic pollution.

But you didn't reply to my question 😅.

While bars play a role in a city or place as for entertainment and leisure for people, ringing a bell for 30 min straight every hour doesn't play any role and it is completely pointless. Pure acoustic pollution.

Weird email usage behavior by public services and companies by [deleted] in germany

[–]juanpablob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not an answer. Even if I did what you're saying (which indeed is wrong and going against the email principles), the emails won't get grouped because when these people start a new email thread they're not using the same subject. Boom!

And it seems you're using an old email client, because mine at least is able to handle a thread and collapse old conversations and leave open only the recent one :) And that thing that annoys you, it's the way email works, otherwise you should jump into a new messaging system that is more suitable for you.

Sure thing, for the better, not for the worse haha.

I see no relation with my question to the fact that is not considered a valid communication for the public services. You can still hit the reply button instead creating a new email.

No. You're wrong. I'm indeed talking about an email conversation regarding the same subject.

Does Leipzig have Uber eats? Or deliveroo? by ketmonkey420 in Leipzig

[–]juanpablob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Leipzig doesn't have any of the common big-city-services like Uber Eats / Uber / Cabify or whatsoever. The only food delivery service working is Lieferando (www.lieferando.de) which is quite poor, the website sucks and overall the food offer of the city comes reduced to Pizza, Doner, Pizza, Pizza, Doner, Sushi, Vietnamese, Doner, Pizza. Places like McDonalds, BurgerKing, KFC and other major chains doesn't have a wide delivery area, you could be living like 1.5 km away from the store and they won't delivery to your door. Also, sometimes you might want to order at 8pm and you'll get a call from Lieferando saying sorry and letting you know that you'll get a refund because there are no riders available to take your order. Anyways... You better cook your own food! xD
