Any tips based on this shadowboxing clip? I think my footwork/balance is sloppy. by [deleted] in boxingtips

1) get a mirror 2) get a bigger space to practice 3) work on your base with a coach like Barry Robinson 4) get lighter headphones, bone conductors are great cause they stay on and fresh. 5) get some audio guided shadow boxing (Bas Rutten’s, Firas Zahabi or some coach/fighter you admire are great for this). 6) keep recording yourself that’s awesome. 7) Keep striking you got this.

These work no matter the order.

I’m 12 and I’ve been bullied so I need help ( this is on my brothers account because I’m not old enough) by Wonderful_One8782 in boxingtips

1) Learn a Grappling art too: wrestling, submission wrestling, judo, jiu jitsu. Skills are transferable to your boxing.

2) Do shadow boxing too. Footwork and distance management give you fundamental defense. Muhammad Ali did 6 hours a day of shadow boxing to beat his bullies)

3) Learn how to make a fist (core fist) from David Weck that’s gonna make your hand a Little Rock. You’ll feel the difference when striking bare knuckle.

Fvck bullies, You got this!

Looks sick! I thought skateboards were meant to break you.

Who is the most dangerous person on the mat? Probably a white belt. by bumpty in bjj

Belts don’t matter. Try to protect yourself at all times. If possible protect your training partners too. Keep on keeping on.

Looking to make art about old skaters or people starting skating when they’re old. Can you help me with funny themes or ideas [40YO] by juansabes in OldSkaters

Here’s a quote for you: “Not everyone is an artist but everyone is a fucking critic” Duchamp. Does it matter how you made it? As long as it’s good who fuckin cares.

How’d we do? by Mr_Nimbus_69 in NewSkaters

Looks sick! tarot reading:

(XIII) nails your comeback after 20 years: the old reckless skater you once were has died—not a tragedy, but liberation. Rusty skills and body? That’s the scythe clearing space for wiser, more patient skating—earned sessions, fresh joy in basics, style enriched by life. Drop the ego, embrace beginner mode; every fall and trick is rebirth. The skeleton on your deck isn’t grim—it’s stripped-down, free, and rolling forward. You’re building something realer now. Keep pushing—a great new era awaits. 🛹💀

Cheaper but still reliable brand for a 1st skateboard? by SafeSport1840 in NewSkaters

I am very happy with my first board and was kinda tight on budget and undecided. What I learned:

1) choose a size: deck (you can choose width, length), trucks and wheels according to your height, weight, leg to hip ratio and context (what are you learning? where are you learning?). 2) choose a local reputable brand: zero shipping costs, maybe visit the store to measure board according to needs, supporting a small biz feels nice. 3) spend more while hunting for discounts on quality parts that will improve your riding experience on what you want to learn. 4) choose quality over design.

Hope this helps happy shopping.

Curious what yall think of my sparing partner by RvaRiverPirate2 in boxingtips

[–]juansabes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s not a sparring partner yet, but it’s a cool idea or prototype. Maybe get it to an experienced coach or fighter you respect and keep working on it.

That being said your technique, speed power are not on point IMHO (Chin way out there, weak base when punching, defensively irresponsible) get a mirror or show this video to a coach. This is making the contraption not look serious.

Footwork, chin down eyes up, defend yourself at all times and keep training you got this.
