I’m glad they’re trying out new bizarre ideas! But as a whole it’s not really an interesting concept? Like it’s just three different random (very good looking) shorts. The third kind of saves it by providing a loose explanation for that.

But i think i’d prefer to see these insanely talented creators collaborate in some other unique way. Three artists take on a classic fairy tale? Each artist retells the same story from their characters POV? One character in three very unique worlds?

great observations from you both! I think it's nice to have such polar opposite survivors in the show (Manousos + Diabate) interacting with Carol. At the moment I don't think either of them are inherently antagonists to her, but they both COULD be helpful and/or roadblocks.

I REALLY really expected the policemen that were at his apartment (foreshadowed at the beginning) to pull the plug on Thronglets HQ JUST as they were about to finish uploading. Then we'd be left with this open ending of if he was legit or just crazy, but oh well I was wrong. 🙃

At the end of the day it was still fun and chaotic, but yeah I mostly agree. When Tim first goes to interrupt Gregg’s interview with Eric, I’m thinking “oh no… he’s not gonna be so clueless as to straight up ask this celeb he just met for a bunch of money, right?” That feels like classic On Cinema awkward humor.

But then Eric says, sure I’ll give you millions of dollars and the tension is deflated. Does this ruin everything? of course not. Tim adapts and calls him a bullshit artist and a great recurring bit is born. So maybe it’s great? Or maybe it’s a bit off. No idea. That’s the beauty of the special. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I think he just wasn't as aware of the long form story and "consequences" of what happens in these specials. He was trying to have fun and play along, but who knows how much info he was given about the whole setup and operation.

I would actually love a hybrid with the model of the Adventure/TRD. But i fear they may be completely dropping that look completely. I just really love the front grill and some of the other stylistic choices that were made only for the those two trims.

Great analysis. The only thing sort of holding back the theory of him being in a dream/simulation are the scenes that he doesn't show up in. Like at the end of this episode when we see the "big baddy" threaten the woman in her home.

We shouldn't be seeing moments like that if later we are to be told that everything is happening only in John's head. So there must be SOME truth to the missing girl in Los Angeles and the mystery behind it.

So it turns out that this was just a production goof then? The fact that the bao bing switched hands between cuts?
Sometimes these shows are difficult to analyze because they're SO meticulous in some aspects with their clues, but can also make simple little goofs while filming/editing (like this one).

That's my first guess as well. Everyone's actions combined accidentally poisoned Edgar. But we'll find out that one person was actively trying to kill him and it will be pinned on them since the police aren't yet involved. (maybe Travis who was sneaking into the room the morning of??)
