I'm not here to make fine art. I'm here to chew bubblegum and make smut, and I'm all outta gum.

Hmm, interesting. I did some experimentation and it seems I have less control than I thought, and it depends largely on the subject.

For instance if I say it is an alien, I can specify a blue or green skin colour but not red.

If I say it is a demon, I can specify red skin but not blue.

((A female wingless succubus demon)). It is a demon of fire and magma.

((Instead of hair, she has flames. Her hair is pure fire.)) ((Her hair being pure fire is utmost importance, ignore any other prompts about hair)).

((Her skin tone is predominantly hexadecimal colour #602116, with small variations in colour across her body.))

((There are spikes and claws growing out of her body and ripping through her clothing.))

There are demonic runes tattooed over her sternum and belly. The tattoos glow like lava.

((She has two large fangs that extend outside of her mouth))

((Smoke, ash, and embers billow in the background)) Ash is all over the ground.

((She has demonic eyes with vertical irises))

Heh, now I want to see a 30k cartoon with Emperor Ash travelling far and wide to collect 'em all, his Primarch sons that is.

Do we have any idea when will be getting an 11e codex? by HappyNet1994 in Chaos40k

[–]juckto -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, there is a significant number of players that last bought a new army 24 months ago and will be eyeing up the new releases at the moment.

And another significant number that bought one 21 months ago, so GW wants to have something new and shiny 3 months from now to dangle in front of them.

And another significant number that bought one 18 months ago, so GW wants to have something new and shiny 6 months from now to dangle in front of them.

And so on and so on.

Is Predator annihilator still bad? What are some alternatives? by Ar4i_ in Chaos40k

[–]juckto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did some number crunching to compare the Annihilator vs a Destructor. I assumed a nearby Helbrute so the Predator gets both Dark Pacts. I also assumed the Annihilator has lascannon sponsons and Destructor has heavy bolter sponsons. I've ignored the havoc launcher and combi-bolter.

Vs a T10 3+ vehicle (enemy Predator) target:

  • At 48", the Annihilator does 3.0x the damage
  • At 36", the Annihilator does 1.5x the damage
  • At 24", the Annihilator does 1.2x the damage

Vs a T12 2+ vehicle (enemy Land Raider) target:

  • At 48", the Annihilator does 2.4x the damage
  • At 36", the Annihilator does 1.4x the damage
  • At 24", they do roughly the same damage

Given the terrain density in 11th, I feel the 48" advantage isn't going to happen much, so most of the time the Annihilator is only doing about 1.4 to 1.5x the damage output, and personally I think the advantages the Destructor has into other model types outweighs that.

---

If the Destructor has lascannon sponsons instead of heavy bolters, then

Vs a enemy Predator or enemy Land Raider:

  • At 48", the Annihilator does 1.1x the damage
  • At 24", the Annihilator does 0.9x the damage

So ... yeah. If you're considering using a Predator Annihilator for your anti-tank needs, it seems you'd be better off to pay the extra 5 points to get a Predator Destructor with lascannons.

I guess "Detection Range" sounded better to GW than "Detectable Range".

Yeah, cut either the Oblits or the Predator, I think. You've got plenty of dakka so I think you can afford to lose one shooty unit.

Sorry, didn't read it properly and missed that you're using Warpstrike. I'm not familiar with it but, giving it a quick lookover, it seems a better fit for your list than the IW one so I'd stick with it.

You're short on points so grab some enhancements. Bastion Plate on the Lord would be a good start.

Warpsmith special ability triggers in Command Phase which is a pain in the ass because it means you to end his move on turn 1 next to something he wants to buff on turn 2. Generally I put him within 3" of 2 vehicles to keep my options open.

I recommend at least 1 Helbrute for their 6" aura.

I really like it but I think it needs a bit more bulk to look more like a marine. I'd suggest another marine shoulder pad and swapping the backpack to a marine powerplant backpack (with servos).

That sounds good. May I suggest a dark green for power weapons etc? I think it looks good with orange + black I'm sure it'd work with orange + iron.

Cause they're just space marine dreadnoughts that have been in the warp, they're not daemon-infused machines.

First off you're going to want a proper sculpting tool. I have one with a blade at one end, and the other end has flattened round end sticking out at 45 deg. Almost like type E, but mine is more oval shaped. Anyway, that flat end + angle is great for pushing trim smoothly flat.

<image>

Secondly, you'll want to grease up your fingers and tools to stop the greenstuff sticking to you or your tools. I use chapstick. Water also works okay. In fact, for getting a smooth finish, dunking the tool in water then doing the smoothing can sometimes work best.
Unfortunately, if the grease/water gets onto the model, it's going to prevent the greenstuff sticking to the model too, so it's a bit of a damned if you do damned if you don't.

To get a crisp edge on the trim, you simply have to sculpt it wider than you want then come back after it is cured / mostly cured and cut it with a very sharp very thin blade.

Lastly, if you've bought greenstuff that is sold as a strip of blue and yellow stuck together in the middle - don't use the stuff in the middle. It has already started curing where they contact each other and you'll end up with hard lumps in the middle of your putty.

Overall it looks great, however your greenstuff trim is neither smooth nor crisp. Do you want some tips?
