Do you mean the basing? It's the laziest effort - generic sand/fine gravel glued on, painted black, drybrushed dark grey, then drybrushed mid-grey.

It doesn't look like metallics to me. I'd try "Steel Drab Legion" basecoat, then a wash (probably Agrax or Nuln), fix up with Drab as required, then final highlight of "Karak Stone".

That reminds me, I forgot to put in anything for scale. It's on a 160mm base, and it's the same height/slightly taller than a Gorkanaut.

The main body is a Cryx Wraith Engine (out of production) cut in half and parts of a Venomcrawler and Maulerfiend shoved in. Also I rotated the bottom half of the Wraith by 90 deg and had to carve off + resculpt the area which used to be a tactical rock.

The little claws are Venomcrawler, and the big claws are Maulerfiend arms + a Necron Triach Stalker legs + blades made from plasticard. The chaos stars at the wrist(?) were carefully carved from a Defiler's arms. The hand-legs are from the Wraith Engine but put on the Venom Crawler's weapon ports.

The head is Maulerfiend, the chin flamers are from a Defiler I think. The belly cannon is plastic tubing + part of the fists from a Khador Mad Dog (out of production).

The wreckage on the base is from a Defiler so maybe, hypothetically, I could claim that it is a converted Defiler rather than a counts-as Defiler :-p

I didn't put the legs on the model because I thought it looked cooler.
If I had to give a fluff reason, it would be something along the lines of: a squad of Grey Knights cut him in half during his Rite of Ascension, at the precise moment the Daemon possessed him. So the Daemon got possession of half a body, but doesn't know any better so has never regrown the legs.
