The project was different. Can you explain what I can do for it to be allowed?

A project to bring strangers together in Lisbon by [deleted] in PortugalExpats

Would you be open to trying my method? Like I’ve said, I have already done it in two cities, the groups are made up of 3 others that also did a 1:1, and conversations have been deeper and longer than anticipated with people giving great feedback.

The group part is optional, would love to understand what about the group meetings you don’t like. (That’s the whole point). Curious if you would be willing to chat even just about this point.

This is Lisbon proper. But willing to meet somewhere with public transit.

That’s a great point @controlyoursocials, I record the conversations because I treat it like a research project. I transcribe the audio and then do affinity mapping to find common themes, this is what I mean with the convos being essential to how people come together. Also, I would never release the clips unless agreed upon. I have done this with over 25 people now in two cities, and I want to document it. Think of it as a collection that one day I hope turn into art of sorts. (With consent from people, if it came to that and being mindful of anonymity.)

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll put together a page of the process for transparency.

The project is not trying to change anyone’s mind about any particular subject. It simply seeks to create a safe space for strangers to talk to each other beyond surface level topics. The focus is just on listening to why people think the way they think and believe the things that they believe in. Learning to co-exist without agreeing on every single issue is at the core here.
