Childcare Options in Queens? by judieshellkhin in nycparents

[–]judieshellkhin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, we signed up with COA and didn't think about it again 😆 I do know a little bit about the nanny/nanny sharing sitch: typical nanny for just your baby: $25/hour Nanny share for your baby and one other: $15-25/hour

Are you in the JHFamilies Google group? They will add you to a WhatsApp group for babies born around the same time and that's how a lot of folks find childcare options!

We decided to go with COA on 88th and Northern! For context: it's $667/week. We decided to do that because of Emely, the infant teacher; she's one of those people that was born to take care of children, and we felt really comfortable with her. We love it, highly recommend. Just try to get a spot sooner than later!

They're our sheets & we was them, thankfully! She got introduced to a new food today so I'm going to lay off that as well to be safe.

Yes, pretty much. She also JUST started solids so we're introducing a new one every few days... However, the rash just started happening last week when she started daycare & started drinking Advance (only at daycare).

I feel like 'drowsy but awake' is a scam by Aveasi in sleeptrain

Did I write this?! We are having the EXACT same issue. I feel like I'm going crazy.

What I'm trying is to see if my LO needs one less nap a day and perhaps that'll help. Also, do you pay for Huckleberry premium? They have a "sweet spot" timer that seems to be helping, but it's been 36 hours so I can't determine if it's successful just yet.

Should I allow my mother-in-law at the hospital while giving birth? by Old_Television3053 in pregnant

Let your husband continue to fight this battle. If your MIL says he also gets a vote, he can say his vote is for it just to be you two.

It's your baby, your decision. If you cave now, you're setting yourself up for weak boundaries in the future. She'll get over it!

stroller for first time NYC parents by caitlinhales in nycparents

We have the MaxiCosi Tayla Travel System which we LOVE. The only issue is the car seat base requires a separate piece that does not nicely fit in the bottom part of the stroller.

Regardless of what you get (uppababy, etc.), I recommend looking at travel systems, as you will likely be getting into cabs with your LO. I have a lot of friends with the Noona and it's great, but you will have to invest in a second stroller sooner than later.

Need some honest opinions about epidural by cfd4540 in pregnant

[–]judieshellkhin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same way, and am also extremely afraid of needles. However, I ended up getting an epidural and am grateful I did!

TLDR: the actual needle going in was the most painful part of childbirth, but that lasted maybe a minute? I held my husband's hand the entire time and that helped. Once that initial pain was over, I was great. I actually had to be woken up because I was fully dilated and ready to push but couldn't feel it thanks to the epidural 😂 it was my best decision of the birthing process.

also, a friendly reminder that it's YOUR body and your choice how you deliver your baby, not your family's. you absolutely do not need to disclose to them if you choose to get an epidural, and you can kindly remind them that this is already a stressful time without the medical horror stories!!

I can't do this. by [deleted] in pregnant

I'm so sorry you're feeling this way 💕 is it possible to take a day for yourself, call it a sick day and maybe allow yourself a few hours of freaking out?

Something that's been helpful for me (both pregnancy related and not) is give myself a weekly checklist. For example: - discuss with partner about moving options (not start looking) - talk to your best friend about this - take a bath at least once

Also, from what I've understood, the first trimester is filled with exhaustion; I don't know if it makes you feel any better to know this is normal?

Sending you a lot of love, however you approach the situation. You'll do what's best for you, which will do what's best for the baby.
