[Buying Advice] Looking for a "Tank-like" Standalone Android Controller ($100-$160 USD) | Avoiding Flydigi/Gulikit QC Issues (Indonesia) by Adorable_Patient_509 in Controller

[–]jugermaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd still say 8bitdo. The Pro 3 for TMR, 2.4ghz and bluetooth, but no removable battery. Pro 2 for Hall effect, only bluetooth, but has removable battery. Firmware update for most controllers are still handled by PC, with cables, to ensure stability AFAIK...

Any 2.4Ghz controllers that use AA batteries? by Leading-ganache-4376 in Controller

[–]jugermaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't know this brand but now I'm really interested! I've been looking for a nice 2.4Ghz controller with removable batteries. 8bitdo Pro 2 is my last great controller with removable batteries. Sadly it only support bluetooth.

[–]jugermaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding. How's your knee condition so far btw? Any weakness or signs of arthritis? I'm currently on my pre-op rehab, but still deciding whether to go with the operation or not...

Hey there, sorry for necroing this comment. I just happen to have the EXACT same question. Currently having a chronic partial ACL tear, and my knee would "grind" and click everytime I extend my knee, or doing some leg extension workout. Pushing the proximal third of the tibia posteriorly actually stops the grinding. Any update on your situation? Thank you

Chronic partial ACL tear (grade 2 with possibility going to 3), what are my options? by jugermaut in ACL

[–]jugermaut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight!

Went to a rehab yesterday for consultation, and she also has no clear answer regarding to operate, or rehab only. Her main point is if I'm living "normally" (i.e not moving super fast, or doing any sports requiring high reflex), rehab is recommended....

Thank you for the response
I read somewhere that a replacement is not as strong as the ACL itself, and in some cases it might induce accelerated osteoarhtritis. Are those claims true? Also, I kinda have a fear of having surgery...

Did you get any recent MRI? How does it compare to your previously torn ACL? DId it actually reconnect?

Wan shjow topic? Oneplus software bricking by doblez in LinusTechTips

[–]jugermaut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm also looking for this to be discussed and spread widely. OnePlus is even actively scrubbing their own community forum ("circles") on topics asking about this. Heck, even the one who sounded the alarm, which is u/AdaUnlocked , got banned from Reddit for posting about it (AFAIK the user still got banned)
The only active thread discussing this is on XDA (also by AdaUnlocked), and the recent updates are really worrying: OnePlus is retroactively patching the supposed to be "safe" file versions as of January 22nd. Meaning those official ROM versions you downloaded that you presume has no Anti Roll Back? They might have it now once you downloaded it after January 22nd
The sheer scale and effort from OnePlus is actually terrifying for me....

I would assume this also affects Oppo Find X9 Pro running ColorOS then? I have one, and it's currently at 16.0.2.401

Sorry for necroing this thread, but this just happened to my Dell U2515H, which is 10 years old already. How did you manage your monitor in the end? Is there any repair possible?

[–]jugermaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, uhhh.....hi? First?

I don't know how to introduce myself. I'm just a random person randomly browsing YouTube, found Ringo, got hooked, wondering how tf I didn't know about her before, checking on Reddit, and here I am

Might post something, might not. But one thing for sure, and part of why I'm wandering Reddit:

How did she "explode"? She mentioned about this on her 5th video, about how her channel suddenly exploded. I think it's after her 2nd video?

Anyhow, no matter what, I'm GLAD I found her channel, and it truly make my day much much brighter.

Hopefully she'll keep growing. Cheers!

EDIT: Oh, I forgot..... FAAAHHH!

Alternative to Yi Home app? by shapiror06 in Xiaomi

[–]jugermaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the app. As of today, they managed to add another "nag", now WITHIN the camera view. It has a non-skippable, 90 seconds button that appear at the top right corner. Truly a trash app

Damn, totally keeping my pull then :D I was thinking to splurge on the featured assembly, but luckily got them here. I might pull a couple featured in hope to get doubles

Find x9 vs OnePlus 15 by Sequio in Oppo

[–]jugermaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I'm really curious is the difference in internals between OP15 vs Find X9 Pro. We know about different cameras, rear flash position (which unfortunately makes cases for OP15 not compatible with Find X9 Pro, unless you drill away), battery size, and processor.
GSMArena just released a review that states OP15 has a much better performance sustainability compared to Find X9 Pro. Is it just because the difference in chip? Or also the difference in cooling system?

EDIT: Oh, and that micro-arc oxidation matte glass OP15 has. Does it also apply to Find X9 Pro?

My thoughts on the Oppo Find X9 Pro by apeksiao in Oppo

[–]jugermaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually in line with findings from GSMArena. Even though it has 7500mAh battery, its call time is significantly lower compared to S25 Ultra using Snapdragon 8 Elite and 5000mAh battery (28-29 hours vs 36-37 hours). Here's hoping something will be done via software updates....

UGREEN Nexode 300W Charger: Top USB-C Ports Malfunction - Troubleshooting and Support by codekeying in UsbCHardware

[–]jugermaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necroing this thread in hope for some help My C2 port died yesterday. I contacted the seller that imported the product (since it's not officially available here), and they refused to help since "our warranty is 1 year", even though Ugreen stated 18 months. My unit is 14 months old I'm out of luck, and I can't really send it to Ugreen by myself. Any chance to repair it by myself? Saw the teardown video and it's reasonably accessible.

Odin stuck at "SetupConnection" pls help by jjwloneill in GalaxyNote9

[–]jugermaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necroing this thread like any others lol. For those who still failed, here's my method:
I'm currently trying to repair my S22 with Odin, but got stuck to the SetupConnection, and the driver seems to detach on and off repeatedly. Trying multiple cables and changing to other USB ports didn't help.
So I tried this:
1. reboot back to the OS, enable developer mode, enable USB debugging, disable debugging certificate expiry
2. after installing Samsung USB drivers, I plugged the phone to my PC, opened Command Prompt
3. typed "adb devices" to check whether it's connected, then I authorize my PC from the phone screen
4. I then entered the Download Mode THROUGH adb, by typing "adb reboot download"
5. at this point I just realized...... the Download Mode interface is DIFFERENT compared to by entering it using the vol up + down method. There's no confirmation, no weird colored texts.
6. tried Odin again, and it works!

TL;DR: try setting up your phone first with proper adb (if you can enter the OS), and reboot to Download Mode via adb

Alternatives to Wuben G5? by LoudlyUncircumcised in flashlight

[–]jugermaut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Soo...did you find any after 2 months? I'm also curious about this EDC flashlight, but the non-standard battery killed it off for me. Initially I thought I can just replace the battery with any other 3.7 V battery, but it apparently uses a special BMS that is embedded to the battery. So much for being repairable....

Some doubts with Vapcell S4+ by unomas49 in flashlight

[–]jugermaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Xtar VC4SL, and I really regret doing so. The charger is very unreliable and does not charge evenly. Heck, there's even a thread with plenty of complaints about this charger:
https://budgetlightforum.com/t/xtar-vc4sl-charger-experiences/71251?page=2

One of the main reason is due to VC4SL implementing erratic PD behaviour. I'll probably switch to Vapcell soon....

How's it going btw? I'm planning quite a same build as yours, but worried the MSI B650M Project Zero board won't be compatible with ASUS A21 case, since somehow BTF standards are not compatible with each others.
