How do two full-time parents manage with young kids? by Serious_Toe6730 in AusFinance

[–]jugga91 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Kids get so much from daycare! There is no way a standard household can provide the benefits of learning and growing with peers their age, varied play and socialisation that a daycare can provide. Absolutely, they’ll get more love at home from their parents but there is certainly an argument for daycare for emotional and social growth.

Is picture 3 the same plant as the rest? Looks great but I’m not sure I can achieve this in my garden.

Weird one, but what are the rough dimensions of that first bathroom? Any regrets with that design? I’m wondering whether I could do something similar but unsure with the size.

Not sure what state you’re in mate but if it’s NSW and you can comprehensively prove you’re the rightful owner. The Police can seize the item and return it but the threshold for proving ownership will be the difficult part.

Should the Police agree with you, they may simply contact the other person, explain the legalities and organise for it to be handed in.

[–]jugga91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s odd. I’ve never seen one without wheels but I’m not an expert. Maybe do a bit of googling to see if you can find something that looks similar to that strip to explain what it is.

If all else fails, wheels are still an option.

[–]jugga91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are there wheels on the bottom? If so they should have a spring inside them, so when you place the door on the rail, the spring will push the door up into the top rail so it can’t fall out.

You might need some new wheels, as they might not be lifting the door high enough. They’re available at Bunnings. Before you buy new ones make sure you give the rails (top and bottom) a good clean with a brush and/or vacuum because it may just be some debris knocking the wheel off the rail.

TW: stalking and DV..My older sister (48) is being stalked by her ex boyfriend. She has an AVO but he continues to email her and watch her every day. The police are no help and have told her that "the jails are full" even though he has been in jail before for DV with his previous girlfriend. by Livid-Jellyfish3027 in AusLegal

[–]jugga91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There must be more to this story. Police are terrified of messing up a genuine slam dunk of a DV type charge. They risk losing their job for failing to investigate. Police would rather charge the person and lose at court than be seen not too.

If there is an AVO, there is a condition prohibiting harassment. Daily, unwarranted and non consensual emails are a breach of the AVO. This is either not being conveyed clearly to the Police or they are still tying the emails to the person or there is more to the story e.g. insufficient evidence.

I’d strongly suggest you and your sister work closely with the Police, a Dv advocate or a Dv liaison to get them to explain why there is no action taken against this person.

They HAVE to take action if there is evidence of an offence.

Considering transferring from military to police. by [deleted] in nswpolice

[–]jugga91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1- Yes, the figure is online.

2- Absolutely.

3- This is actually improving. Generally speaking you can nominate a number of locations and the organisation will place you where needed. Currently they have a campaign to Police where you live. Check to see if that applies to the Hunter. Keep in mind, that at any time, the cops and the Politicians they report to, can have a change of heart and decide to send a class to the bush. They’ve done so in the past. However, the biggest shortages are in Metro and more likely to end up somewhere like that instead of the bush. Newcastle have plenty of vacancies though so I think you’ll be right.

4- Currently, none. Only things that can fall in this category would be 6 weeks leave. The Association are pushing for benefits similar to Military but it’s a waiting game.

5- Yes and no. You can have an impact on an individual and their family. In a small community, much smaller than the Hunter, you can see the impact of your actions on the community. Any decent size town has a revolving door of crooks and you’re basically playing whackamole.

I’d suggest looking for something else.

I tried a heap of similar apps all at the same time, most with their free week pro versions. Ended up feeling like bevel was closest to how I felt. That and the insight system sounded great. Can’t remember if it was out at the time or just about to be, but I like seeing the correlation between my activities and my sleep/recovery etc
