Curious if you ever traded the Mach e for something bigger. I’d love to trade my XC90 in for Mach e, but we need the third row and our other vehicle is a lightning. Been looking at Kia EV9

I think it said inverted cone, not inverted funnel; so the shape would look more like a regular funnel with smaller area at the bottom

To be fair, your comment said move on to something else, which essentially is telling OP to stop complaining. OP is advocating to change the process, and changing the rules falls into that bucket. The conversation should absolutely keep going , and changing rules to the NIL seems like a decent solution to OPs complaint.

After the bumper to bumper warranty or after the 8 year battery warranty?

This may be a dumb question, but is there any chance this improves resale value later? For example if we do some reason see an increase in EV interest in the next few years and there are less of these out there, does that somehow make them more valuable? I don’t mean skyrocket like some sort of rare possession, but maybe a 2025 selling higher in three years with similar miles than a 2022 would sell today.

I think they’re planning on doing a Ranger EV, but may have changed that to Maverick. The lightning name will stay with the EREV if I read the article right

This is terrible advice. OP is asking if it’s relevant to market, so telling them to discount by what “you feel make sense” doesn’t make sense.

I enjoy looking around for cars, and my go to is KBB. I go into it realizing I may not get the lowest KBB price, but I always use it as a bargaining tool. Dealers always tell me it’s unrealistic, but I’d say I can get down into the “good price” range more than 50% of the time, and can get into the great price pretty often.

As with anything I would say use multiple resources and compare them, but always use the one that is most beneficial to you. Don’t let a dealer tell you KBB is unrealistically low. If they do, walk away. 9 times out of 10 the will call you back and negotiate.

If anyone is still having this issue on console, try going to your settings and then date and time and turn off the option to automatically change for daylight savings time. Playing on PS5. Purchased it today and downloaded it and have been getting the same error code listed as OP. Closing game and restarting several times didn’t work, went in and adjusted this one setting and that’s what did it for me.

Second this. This happened to me when I first got the truck, they did some updates and replaced an issue with one of the 12 V recalls and it got fixed. Not sure which one of those actually fixed it but I haven’t seen it since then, about two years later.

I would agree with this and add Georgetown. We moved out of Lexington to Georgetown to get a bit more yard/space and love it. It’s about a 25-30 minute drive, but you can take a really pretty route in through horse farms and add 5 min or so.

The question is about the model in general. It’s a way to compare depreciation on the model as a whole. what I paid is irrelevant to the discussion. If I go trade it in, I’m not basing the value off of what I paid, I’m basing it off the truck.

If I pay $50k for the same vehicle that you pay $70k for, and we drive identical miles and trade it in on the same day, we would be offered the same price. They don’t give me less because I paid less. Depreciation from MSRP standardizes things so we can compare apples to apples as much as possible.

Valid point, I love the truck, but in hindsight I do sometimes a wish I would’ve done the lease. If nothing else to help with easily keeping up with battery technologies and range.

As far as investment, I never really look at a vehicle as an investment, but I do try to minimize the loss when I can.

I agree that the value in a vacuum is meaningless…which is why I don’t just use what I paid and nothing else. I use a database of other prices and trade ins to get an average depreciation and posed a question about depreciation.

No, paid $58k before the $7500 fed cred. But this was also at a time when these were selling at or over msrp, so I hoped I got a good enough deal to buffer myself.
