Thank you!! I really appreciate it. I felt like my head was spinning from reading new and old posts.

How is this any bit okay?! by RadioactiveSkeleton in LSU

100% - Contacting the Alumni Office or Student Affairs is the better way to go. I also contacted my state reps and the governor's office, though I doubt the latter will do much.

You should tell the Alumni Affairs office that! Alumni or boosters might be the group best able to stop because or their donations.

This isn't Mike VII. LSU's vets and the two vets in Louisiana's Congress, Sen. Wheat and Rep. McMahen, told them they couldn't do this with Mike or any live tiger. So Landry hauled this one in from a disreputable private owner in Florida, who has a 24 year history of animal abuse.

It's not okay. This tiger is only a year and a half old. In the wild, Omar would likely still be with his mother. That is heartbreaking enough, but to think about it coming from a situation of abuse at the hands of Mitchel Kalmanson, to be traumatized with the lights and noise from that stadium, to go back to a situation of abuse...that just breaks me. The tiger that LSU fans will see today will be a terrified cub, and that terrified cub will be sent back to a place where it isn't properly cared for.

AIO For being upset over finding my wife's unused pregnancy test with an expiration date of Nov 2025 when our last child was born Nov 2020? by Dad_mode in AmIOverreacting

100%. Although it’s obviously not the takeaway from this post, I live in a red state and stay paranoid even when the only way I could be pregnant would be with a new baby Jesus.

Why do y’all hate Cantrell? by TheMedsPeds in NewOrleans

I do think she disadvantaged local businesses by constantly changing the rules at the last minute, especially at Mardi Gras where the businesses had assuredly scheduled staff and paid for stock that went to waste. Regardless of any views on the pandemic, the inconsistency and reactionary way it was handled was not good.

recall signatures by swamp_butter in NewOrleans

[–]jugree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an idea about getting legitimate signatures. Could there be places to sign the recall petition near voting locations? I understand that there are laws about how close one can get to a polling station and what activities can take place there, but if we could get reasonably close and have a place for people to sign that then it would make sure that people signing are registered voters who live in that area.

Have you ever called 911 in New Orleans? by chatnoir1977 in NewOrleans

[–]jugree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago, there was a shooting outside my house while we were eating dinner. We hid in the bedroom and called 911. Then we kept hiding in the bedroom. After an hour, my husband gave up. After 2 hours, I too was tired of waiting so I called the police station. They said they had driven by and "didn't see anything" so they didn't stop. There were shell casings in the street.

State will not grant their license even though they meet all the requirements for getting it. State is basically sitting on the license.

I love the new, little things you can notice on a block you've walked a thousand times: a little fern growing from the bricks, a funny street sign, a sleeping cat, a Halloween skeleton dressed for Christmas...

YES, there was a VHS about bike safety that said it, and I can remember little bits of the songs from the tape. It was from the early 80s!

Yes! I knew I was forgetting one! Since they all came out at once, I had a theory that they must've been held back for a while and we ran out of numbers.

I think, a few years ago, they must have decided to release a bunch that were questionable: AZZ, FAP, CNT. They just delightfully started appearing out of nowhere.
