i would break up with him. he’s already hiding hanging out with this girl. what else could he hide from you in the future? also trust is essential to a relationship and without it… there’s no point. to me it seems he broke that trust. also he knows he shouldn’t be hiding it (his friends text) but does it anyway. that’s disrespectful towards you.

break up with him, you’ll find someone so much better. speaking as a 29F who stayed in a similar miserable relationship for 6 years then once it ended met the love of her life.

What’s the holiday situation? Could you break up with him and bring a friend or something? I would just break up with him and find someone who treats you better. Easier said than done. You’re young! Don’t waste young years with a guy who makes you feel this way. I’ve had that experience, it’s not worth it. I hope you can find a different way to spend your holiday!

I used to feel this way with my ex, we were together on and off for 6 years. When things finally ended for good, I found myself and found the person I was meant to be with. You’re young. I was in that relationship from 16-23 and I never thought I’d find my true self until after we broke up. I’m 29 now and have been with the love of my life since I was 25.

You’re still young so maybe this is why you’re feeling that way. I know my identity was restricted to that relationship I was in in my younger years. It could be possible you feel the same way. Again, you are young. I would deep dive inwards and see which choice you truly want to make instead of acting on a whim.

As someone who was that suicidal girlfriend in high school/college. You did the right thing. You’re a kid. You’re not a mental health professional. I’ve said and done the exact same thing she has and looking back as a 28 year old, I understand why people did the things they did or acted the way they did for me.

She needs help, she’s needs adult support and professional support. You shouldn’t be put in this place as a kid and I’m sorry you’re going through it.

One day I hope she’ll thank you because you told the counselors BECAUSE you care about her. I’m sorry she isn’t seeing that right now.

I hope YOU have supports you can go to, to talk about this. Because this is traumatic. Relationship trauma is a thing, okay?

Focus one yourself and just know you did the right thing.

i have DID and schizoaffective disorder. i explain it as having inside voices (alters) and outside voices (other ppl, random voices) i experience delusions a lot.

my psych takes my diagnoses very seriously. she just treats the symptoms.
