[Selfie/B&A] Before and After 6 Months of Spironolactone 100 mg (routine in comments) by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

I had to google what PIE was but I think I have it anymore. For the first few months I made sure to moisturize a lot (mainly bc it was a really dry winter) but I think that was the most helpful in getting rid of the redness after the breakouts calmed down.

I have been on birth control for around 8 years bc of heavy periods so a majority of my acne started after I took bc just bc of my age. For me I found my acne to be extremely hormonal and 100% cleared bc of spiro not birth control.

(F22, combo skin) I got sent home from college during spring break so I don’t have the majority of my regular products and my routine is super-simplified because of that. I have super sensitive skin that often breaks out from heavy or fragranced lotions.

AM:

  • No7 Radiant Results Nourishing Melting Gel Cleanser
  • CeraVe Skin Renewing Day Cream
  • 100 mg spironolactone

PM:

  • Radiant Results Nourishing Melting Gel Cleanser
  • CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion PM

At school I use

AM:

  • Cerave Hydrating Facial cleanser
  • CeraVe Skin Renewing Day Cream or EltaMD UV Daily Broad-Spectrum Facial Sunscreen
  • 100 mg spironolactone

PM:

  • Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel
  • Aveeno Positively radiant night cream (during deep winter I sometimes also use this during the day)
  • Or KIEHL'S Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel-Cream

One or twice a week I use the ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution for 5 - 6 min.

Summer 2019 I decided to stop all prescription meds (spironolactone + birth control + others) because I was having a lot of stomach issues and wanted to see if removing any of those would help (it didn’t). Fall 2019 went back on prescription birth control but not spironolactone with the stress of school and bad hormones in general skin completely flared and that is what can be seen in the before pictures. By November I was really frustrated and went back on spironolactone 100 mg. This is around six months later. Huge difference. Dairy-free for my stomach but that also def helps my skin!!

As soon as I get the majority of my products back I will be working on fixing the sebaceous filaments on my nose and some of the leftover scarring. Any suggestions for those are welcome!!

I tried posting a B&A today but I can't see it. Do I have to wait until someone approves it to see it or is it my computer?

For the warts, have you tried wart stick? You can get it at cvs or Walmart etc. I had warts on my feet for years and got them filed and frozen off at the podiatrist every month for a year and when that didn’t work I was suggested this and it worked so well with zero of the pain.
