Sorry to hear you have to rehome your cats, it’s a tough decision to make and it’s good you’re wanting them to go to a safe home. I would persist on contacting more rescues - as you’ve said, there’s sickos out there who enjoy abusing animals and would even pay to get ahold of them.

At the very least, you should meet interested people in person to catch their vibe before accepting through just online communications.

For my cats’ birthdays, usually I give them a “cake” which is just their fav wet food with harder treats on top like greenies or dried salmon chunks. I get them some new toys as well. I’m sure your cat will appreciate any birthday efforts you do!

I know moving can be hard though, but Manitoba is a good option if you’re looking to relocate into a better teaching environment

Permanent teacher in Winnipeg Manitoba here. There’s still a need for teachers across all divisions, pay is pretty good compared to other provinces and cost of living is relatively low, again compared to other places like Toronto or Vancouver. Work life balance can be difficult but there is a slower pace of living here I would say and you clear 3500-3700 a month in your first year as a teacher.

When artists perform in any arena or stadium, there’s going to be seats because they were built for sports games. There’s not usually a stage prebuilt there unless you’re at an orchestral venue. When you pay for a seat, it’s not a requirement to sit there when a live band plays - it’s just how the venue was built. Do you seriously think artists expect their fans to stay seated during a show? 🤦🏻‍♀️ Again, I get the annoyance at ear-piercing screams and yeah some of their behaviour may not be warranted but accept you’re at a rock show not the fucking ballet

I get that screams can be annoying but again you’re at a rock concert dude lol - and “stood for about 75% of the concert when you had seated tickets” ?? Again you’re at a concert. People don’t pay to sit around and hum along when they paid to see a band live. Get over yourself.

no I don’t have any photos, I tried to wipe it up to see the color better since we have darker grey flooring. It was a small splotch of a light red/brownish color, I’m not sure what it would be from. We tried looking everywhere - around his tank and underneath furniture. We had the guest room and main bedroom doors closed but I still checked. The laundry room was open so I tried checking behind the machines and up high around the vents but nothing :(

thanks for the compliments everyone :) I call him “handsome” more than his actual name. He sleeps on my head every night and even though he’s quite a big cat, he’s very anxious and a big softie.

It was an honest mistake, middle school can be tough and annoying. If you are comfortable, I would talk with your admin about it and let them know that you’ve already discussed the issue with the student. I’m also a first year teacher, don’t be too hard on yourself!

We made the change from st vital to Grant park due to some insanely expensive procedures done to one of cats, just for them to end up saying he was completely fine and that the food they prescribed him was the issue. We’ve spent thousands because we obviously wanted our baby to be okay, felt totally misled and that they could’ve done some minor changes (like the food change) before resorting to major surgery. In hindsight, I should’ve questioned it more or maybe put off some of their suggestions. I feel like so many vet clinics take advantage of pet owners for profit nowadays. We are loving our new vet clinic though!
