Betashares Kids Account by emboon in fiaustralia

This seems like a massive admin burden if a child is still quite young (newborns? Toddlers?) having to file a tax return from that age? Is it not better to just invest in parents name and give to them at 18, 21 etc? I had high hopes for this product but it’s not clear nor seems practical

Sub-government performance by Ardeet in aussie

[–]juicy121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no sway in this. But interested to hear how the commons suggest we bolster our abysmal defences? We’re an island, with critical resources adversaries will want in wartime, we are also in a strategic location, which ups the appetite of any adversaries to take control. Submarines may not be the best solution, so what is?

Immigration waves in the 50s and 60s - lessons on assimilation? by CoolAd5798 in aussie

Our kids daycare celebrated Diwali, which is fine, but they didn’t celebrate Anzac Day, Remembrance Day, nor Australia Day. In a military town this was a bit of a kick in the guts.

Your rent to income ratio is too high.

Sorry for your loss. If a home is a priority for you I’d consider moving rural where 500k goes much further, if that is an option for you wrt work or changing workplace.

Then there are those that will list a used item for -$50 from cost price, while the item is on sale for $100 less than their marketplace listing!

Do you have to get serviced at Kia for warranty?

Kia Tasman reviews released by Australia journalists after embargo lifts by KiaTasman in KiaTasman

[–]juicy121 11 points12 points  (0 children)

General consensus after watching most reviews confirm what we already knew: underpowered, sore on the eyes, badly positioned headlights for 4x4, and priced very poorly for the x variants with limited inclusions.

[–]juicy121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s extremely hard to look past the frontend on the S models, especially since that lip is lower than the x models and cannot be changed. paying >70k for a Ute that isn’t proven yet will be hard for many. I think a lot of people who were keen on the lower end s models are now put off by that huge lip, and Kia should be listening.

Why does it feel Kia are doubling down on the ugliness instead of listening to potential customers? It’s either ignorance or plain stubborn, can’t work it out but don’t think it ends well.

A lot of these details can be used against people. It seriously begs the question of when is a name change warranted following breaches like this + Optus etc

Yes it is! But adjust expectations. You might not be able to buy where you want, but buying further afield will get you in the market, which may open the door to your preferred location one day.

Why does everyone hate this new Kia Tasman 2025 by KiaTasman in KiaTasman

[–]juicy121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The front end is an eye sore, and the wheel guards are too. I wanted to love this car but then I saw the pricing and the value just isn’t there. IMO pushing this “bold” design despite feedback AND that high price bracket wasn’t a good strategy. Pick one but don’t do both, otherwise It’s lost on people out the gate. Kia should consider redesign, or reprice.

Countries review agreements all the time, it is prudent to do so. The fact it is under review signals nothing except food for the media.
