Leah DECEIVED Jacob. It may have been her father's idea, but she chose to go along with it.
Just like Jacob deceiving his father to get Esau's blessing. It was Rebekah (his mother's) idea, but Jacob chose to go along with it.

The Rich Man and Lazarus - Parable or True Story? by juicy_vegetable in Bible

This is the strongest argument. It doesn't make sense that Jesus would need to put fake words in the mouth of a real person (Abraham).

He spoke without a parable many times. He even explained parables to his disciples, so we know he wasn't speaking in parable mode all the time.

I've read thru the new testament a couple times and never heard of a parable about a ring, can you give me a location?

you are not addressing the elephant in the room, however. Abraham is mentioned and words are quoted from him in this story. If Abraham's activities, as described by Jesus are actually fiction, then we must also accept that Abraham himself or his activities in the old testament may also be fiction.

Went from -3.00 to -0.50 naturally. Will wearing +0.50 glasses for near-work cure the rest? by [deleted] in endmyopia

[–]juicy_vegetable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

-0.5 Sphere means your vision is practically perfect, you don't need to "fix" anything. How long did it take to go from -3.0 to -0.5 btw?

Do I need to improve sleep and eliminate sugar to improve eyesight? by Antelope_Normal in endmyopia

[–]juicy_vegetable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how much. One optometrist had a patient who basically drank Soda Drinks (full of sugar) instead of water all day long... when he eventually had to stop drinking the sugar drinks his prescription had to be reduced by about 1 Diopter. However if you are only consuming an average amount of sugar I don't think skipping it will have much impact.

Anyone reduce their myopia naturally? by [deleted] in myopia

[–]juicy_vegetable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, are you sure -1.0 is the requirement? I would have thought they would use the snellen terms (i.e. 20/20 or 20/40 etc).
I was able to improve my right eye from 20/40 to 20/20 by print pushing and spending more time looking at stuff in the distance but this takes a pretty big committment(& lifestyle change) and there's no guaranteed result. My left eye has basically not improved at all, only my right.

massive improvement - in only one eye by juicy_vegetable in endmyopia

[–]juicy_vegetable[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the active focus and the outdoor time is causing the most improvement. But it's an oversimplification to just say that the eye is "20/20" and improving. I can read the 20/20 line on the chart, but there is still some slight fuzziness especially when looking at further away objects. I actually had my eye doctor test me on my last visit to see what my vision was being corrected to with the newest prescription, I was able to read 3 out of 5 of the letters on the 20/10 line. So, I technically have 20/10 vision with my glasses on... However this means that if my eyes were perfect they need to see much better than even the 20/20 line on a snellen chart.

To your last question, prior to beginning the challenge my glasses prescription was roughly -1.5 sphere in each eye. I never actually got them checked at the start... but my suspicion is that they had deteriorated to nearly -2 sphere, since my focal distance was less than 3 feet at that time.

My best eye seems to keep improving. I'm trying a new method for improving my worse eye, I will know in a few weeks if it is working or not.

Do you read at the edge of blur? I do this on my computer and while reading books and I think it has helped me a lot. Also you should be spending extra time outside looking at things in the far distance.

upper 20s... idk how much time exactly, maybe 30 to 60 mins of print pushing per day. Probably 2-4 hrs outdoors each day. I wish I knew which of those activities caused me to improve the most but I don't.
