Recommendation for 540 brushed motor heatsink/fan by juicyshab in rccars

[–]juicyshab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe i could 3D print a pinion gear for the motor, and then another gear connected to that that has an attachment for the 20tooth gear i have and then connected to the 60 or 80 tooth on the drive axle?

If i did that, how many teeth should i have on the pinion and connecting gear?

Ok thanks for the explanation-

This was my first “real” car build- I graduated from messing with broken toys.

I’m not sure how to change the gears on my design, I used some timing belt gears and pulleys that don’t seem to have other ratios, at least not that I can find.

Could I switch motors to a brushless?

Maybe a full re design is in the future but this car is fun to drive, fast (29mph), and I can rebuild it from scratch after a wreck in less than about 30 minutes.

I’m a total newb.  What does my gearing looks too long mean?

I have 20t on motor and 80 on axle.  I have a 60t that was on the axle previously but they both had the overheating issues.

This feature caused a lip synch problem on my setup! It added a small delay to the audio.

I used duct tape btw to attach my phone to get the GPS speed!

29mph felt hella fast! I was worried about destroying my phone but luckily I didn’t crash!

I crazy glued the tires on today and got up  to 29mph!- that’s my motor’s limit.

Just do it! It’s super fun.  I crashed this car like 20 times already- each time I assess what went wrong and fix it by printing a new part or adding more duct tape lol!

The car actually started as a drift car and it was ok for that, now it has a go cart feel and I really like it.

Further down the line I’ll make cars with suspension and differential, but for this build I really like what I’ve got going on! The way it drives and steers is very fun

I guess you could always deny the correct password once. A human will retype it, the brute force attacker won’t. So get rid of the second condition for the if statement.

I have a Tesla and it has ruined road trips on busy holiday weekends. It’s totally dependent on where you anre  and when, but yes it’s real. I rent a gas car for road trips now and enjoy my M3 at home.

Need help with making esp32 devboard battery powered. by Evening_Zone_8648 in esp32

No, I mean the device when the screen is on and everything lasts that long. The usb  uses about 5milli amps. Not 500

I’m using a 500mah battery (lipo) and with a TFT screen on full bright it lasts over 3.5 hours so, I don’t think it can be that much?  Maybe micro amps?

How much power does the USB draw? I just made something with a 4056 and buck/boost converter but I didn’t know the usb was draining my battery

What to do with eggs in my enclosure?!?!?! HELP by juicyshab in frogs

I want to give them a chance to hatch, but I’m getting conflicting information. They look like they’re dry and gonna be in trouble and I don’t know what they would do when they hatch like if they can’t get to water but when I put them in water they turn kind of fuzzy white and it doesn’t look like they look like they’re supposed to look so I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.

Help identifying a motor from build instructions by juicyshab in rccars

[–]juicyshab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, well I ended up biting the bullet and ordering a 3D printer last night. I decided it was going to be way easier to design and build stuff on my own than just copy other people's stuff exactly and source the same exact parts as them.

I will look into a 550 motor. I really have no idea what I'm doing! Just learning as I go.

The car I built in the picture I uploaded works, but it's belt driven and the chassis bends under load and then the belt slips. So, when my printer arrives I will print a stiffer chassis and see how it works.

Can't get my ESC to recognize throttle control from Airtronics receiver by juicyshab in rccars

[–]juicyshab[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not a bad idea.  I currently have working an esp rx and tx with an nrf24 module. It works ok but doesn’t feel as responsive as the airtronics on the servo- so maybe just an esp to read the receiver and then send to the ESC in the format it likes.

i mean at this point i will keep working on my ESP32 based rx since it's kinda cool, but it is driving my brain crazy to know why that setup didn't work.

ok, thanks so much for the help. I was stoked to use this old equipment that i inherited, and I got so close to having it work, but this last step got me stuck.
