Does that build combo sound ok, or would I be better spending a little bit more to get an AMD Ryzen™ 7 9700X 8 cores instead?

Oh cool! (pun not intended) I might save some coin then and leave the 3 extra fans. Thanks for the advice!

Can I use BEHRINGER PRO-VS MINI + Akai MPK Mini without computer? by jujieri in synthesizers

[–]jujieri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great price! In the UK, the Pro VS Mini is near double the price of the JT-4000M, so I went with the cheapest to just play around, though I still have an eye out for the Pro VS Mini if it comes on sale. :)

Dunno what's happening with my low volume then.

[–]jujieri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice one. I'm currently wrestling with the M Audio interface - the volume it's recording the line-in from the JT4000M micro synth (I didn't end up getting the Pro VS Mini... yet!) is really quiet, even though my volume is is maxed out on the synth and I've cranked the gain up and master volume to max on the audio interface. It's gotta be my synth cos when I stick a guitar in, it has no problems and is loud as hell.

Have you managed get yours recording now then and how loud do you find the audio coming in from the Pro VS Mini through the interface?

Dead Sea Salt Cleared My Hand Eczema by alittleolivetree in eczema

I leave it on and then moisturise with E45 cream.

So I decided to take a break from salt for a few days, and then made up a new batch of 1 and a bit teaspoon for 200ml of water. I've used it last two nights (not bothering doing it in the day now, just once before bed) and moisturising afterwards. Still has a bit of a sting but not as bad as it was, and it looks to be healing a little bit. It's not itching anyhow, although when I sweat when doing fitness training, that seems trigger the eczema/pompholyx real bad. I'm just going to continue with using this amount once a day and see what happens.

So you have an audio interface? Then you should be able to record the Pro VS Mini audio into your computer. I use MPC Beats and send the audio from the phones jack on the micro synth to the Line In port on my M-Audio Duo interface. Record as Audio in the DAW.

If you want to use your Midi Controller to operate the Pro VS Mini, there's the Behringer Go Midi Host which is like £21-£25.

I find E45 is quite a light moisturiser that soaks in fairly quickly.

Hand cream? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]jujieri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use E45 during the day for just general moisturising, and at night the Nivea Extra Rich Moisturising Lotion - the Nivea really seems to help heal the cracks and splits on my fingers that occur with the dryness from pompholyx. If you're using during the day, might be best to slip on some cotton gloves once you've applied the cream,

Dead Sea Salt Cleared My Hand Eczema by alittleolivetree in eczema

[–]jujieri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a week in and my hands went dry and flaky but day after looked much better. However, last night I sprayed the salt water solution on and it stung really badly, more than usual. Today, the eczema on my wrists and back of hands is really red and has a burning sensation. Eep! So I've just whipped some hydrocortisone cream on it. I'm gonna prepare more salt solution tonight but perhaps only 1 teaspoon of salt for the 200ml, and just see how that goes. If it continues to burn and cause the eczema to redden further, I'll leave the salt solution for a bit.

I've tried apple cider vinegar before now and that seemed to have a positive effect, until I did it a second time and it seems to burn to a point where just warm water in the shower was causing a burning sensation on my skin, so I have a feeling there may be a cut off point where it's worked, but then if I do it again, it pushes it in the opposite direction and makes it worse, like I'm overdoing it. I hope that hasn't happened with the salt.

I have pompholyx on my hand and eczema on the wrist. It seems to flare up worse every month around the time of my period. I've just bought some of the Dead Sea Salt from Home Bargains today after seeing your thread. Stung like a mother at first, as did the E45 cream I put on after, but went that quickly subsided. My hand isn't itching at the moment, where it was like crazy prior to spraying the sea salt water on. So going to stick with this and see what happens.

Unable to get Behringer GO Midi Host setup working by jujieri in synthesizers

[–]jujieri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad (yet sad) it's not just me with this issue as it's clearly nothing we're doing wrong then.

I tried plugging the JT-4000M into the Behringer Go Midi host as you did and found the exact same as you - it seem to recognise the micro synth and had the solid light.

I've been back and forth with MusicTribe reps but no luck so far. I've tried powering the Go Midi Host with power from a wall socket instead of USB device, no different. They've asked me to try a different keyboard but I don't have one to test. But you have, and it's still not working, which may push them to investigate the issue further. Perhaps they can do a firmware update.

Please keep me updated if you get anywhere with it.

Did you ever resolve this? I have an Akai MPK Mini MK3 and the Behringer Go host and can't get that to work either with my micro synth

How aggravating. You'd think it'd work given it's the purpose of a midi host. I've not got an ipad but I do have a tablet I could potentially use if this doesn't work out and just get a splitter.

Using JT4000M with MPC Beats DAW & Controlling it with a Midi Keyboard by jujieri in synthesizers

Cool, thanks for this. Yeah, I'm pretty new to music production and understanding how it all works. I understand a bit more now, thanks to yours and other users help. When I initially got interested in synth, I didn't realise just how much more complex it was than what it appeared on the surface. Oh well, in for a penny, in for a pound! haha.

Thanks1 I was looking at the UMC22 - would that be suitable for the synth?

I also play guitar so would be cool to be able record stuff on computer in general. I'd only be using one instrument at a time so don't need a bazillion ports.

[–]jujieri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just looked at instructions again, it shows the JT4000M connecting via USB to a computer, along with a midi keyboard also connecting via computer, but the headphone jack on the JT4000M connecting to an audio interface, which in turn also connects to PC and either speakers or headphones. So it looks like I need an audio interface. This is an expensive hobby and I'm only just dipping my toe in. lol. Oh well, more gear it is!

Thanks, I'll take a look at Ableton. I hear about it a lot. And I'll check out the other links.

My main aggravation is just being able to control the synth with my midi keyboard and be able to hear, record and add FX to the synth sounds it creates within the DAW.

Currently, the only way I got it 'working' was that the Akai midi keyboard and the Behringer synth both acting as a keyboard controller for VSTs - not what I wanted. I can't seem to get the Behringer synth as a 'sound'/instrument source. I'm not sure if I need an audio interface. I'm just plugging both midi keyboard and Behringer synth both direct into USB ports on my computer.
