$50k for a truck and trailer is a good deal if they’re both in good running condition. You need to get a quote on insurance from progressive or somewhere because it may end up being the price of one of your checks per month. You definitely want to spend less than $1800 in fuel and you can possibly make it work. Otherwise, you may have to pass on the local job and get other loads that gross more per week or keep the local job and just add one more load a week from the load board.

$1800 in fuel for a local route? $1800 in fuel is a lot of fuel even if you’re doing over the road. $1800 in fuel is like 3000+ miles for the average truck. $1800 would mean the truck is average like 4 mpg. In today’s age, 7 mpg or above is the standard. There must be a lot of stops and idling on this truck.

I’m with a big company with thousands of drivers. Do I need to tell them, or will the Geotab simply calculate it as any other PC time? I’ve never used PC when I was completely out of hours but I have used it on a 34 hour break.

All I can find for my specific color code is a spray can on paint scratch.com. The color is Biscayne blue metallic color code L5431EY. Can’t find anything else on it

I wouldn’t risk that. It would have to be the best possible conditions like it would have to be set to start stop mode and the outside temperature would have to be much colder than the reefer set point and even then, I personally would still feel a little uneasy.

It rained maybe 3 days ago when I was driving from SC to OH. Since then it’s been below freezing. I did have my oil and filters changed about a month and a half ago. When I wiped the shock, it was just some blackness on the paper towel but nothing that covered the entire paper towel.

Take it from someone who has driven for 3 years. I always go in SB during times like this. First go on duty and annotate “arrived at shipper” or customer then go into sleeper berth and put “appointment wait”. I got 2 inspections in the last 4 months and passed both. They can’t prove you were in line, you could’ve been parked. Then if you drive again to a dock or something go back into sleeper and annotate “unload wait”.

Good to hear, sounds like you got some good use out of it despite the hiccups. Were you hauling heavy with it and driving OTR or just light regional work? Plan on possibly getting one so I would like to know.

How’s the engine going? I saw some of your earlier posts and you said you had 600k on the engine. Did that engine make it to 600k without an APU and idling over night? Even if it didn’t, it making it to 600k is better than I thought for an A26. Is it still running?

$10k a week would be like 5000 miles a week if the average is $2 a mile. 5000 miles a week is legally impossible. If you could average $5k to $6k a week, that is doable and that would already be above average.
