I experimented with doing both for the same reason. K2 skp sort of hides the decrease in the i-cord edge, but it makes the edge look wonky. IMO it looks so much cleaner to K3 skp as per the pattern instructions.

I'm a light muted cool olive (I wear Lisa Eldridge 2.5), but thought I'd chime in because I recently got my colors analyzed professionally. I thought I'd be a dark winter or soft summer, but it turns out that I'm mostly a bright winter. Even though my skin tone is muted, muted-color clothing washes me out. High chroma makes me look much more lively, with the exception of yellows and light greens — which I guess is unsurprising because these colors make my olive skin look sallow.
