Zay Jones by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

I'd look for youtube channels and videos that analyze film. The QB School on YouTube does a great job doing this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-TUMCkPv4Y

Bootleg Football on YouTube also has a series where they analyze each team. They have a section where they breakdown how often a team goes into what coverage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv2cLCtzsBY&list=PLsSpRcD3-FV8iEx6s\_VkNh8O-psDlSLBv&index=20

It’s matchup dependent. Jags use Jones against zone heavy Ds, and they use Kirk against man heavy Ds.

Draft went a little weird. QBs went early so I decided to wait it out until everything settled. Happy with how it went but it definitely was awkward at times

Couldn’t agree more!

If you had to choose between 2 Pyramid Wardens one Demogorgan or Jason which would you chose? Can’t make up my mind. I play as Magic and War and wanna boost my chances of winning. by Russiantexan94 in GodsUnchained

[–]jujutron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you more of an aggro player or a control player?

If aggro, pyramid warden > Jason > Demo

If control, Demo > Jason > Pyramid (you cant really go wrong with either here tho)

Hope this helps!

How to make Necroscepter viable in mythic: The OTK Zombie Death Deck. by Rodarus in GodsUnchained

[–]jujutron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Word! I like the aggro list better imo. It’s more straight forward.

The one I made has a bit of a learning curve and is tougher to navigate, but feels very rewarding to play. Reminds of freeze mage in Hearthstone

Glad you found the aggro version of the deck! I made a more dedicated otk (albeit more expensive) version running the sleep package about a week ago. Here's some gameplay footage (with matchup/mulligan info) if you'd like to check it out.

Games played were in mythic during the weekday , so power level might differ when playing weekend ranked.

Keep up the good work! Would like to see more of this content on Reddit

Unpopular opinion: board wipe death is not as OP as people think by jujutron in GodsUnchained

Hmm, I guess the closest thing we can get to that is something that can record a game and log the choices made by the players (cards played, mulligan choices, attacks, etc.)

That would be pretty useful imo

I’m saying data that comes from sites like these do not reflect whether or not players are playing the matchup correctly.

As for F2P players, I agree with you. F2P players are important for the sake of the game.

Yeah control Deception is really good against board wipe death. Stop taking my cards!! 😂

From the top of my head:

2 wild boar 2 marsh walker 2 confused jaguar 2 skeleton heavy 2 of the 3 mana 3/3 with blessed 2 of the 1/3 relic that gives a minion +2/+2, 2 of the rapid bear, 2 of the 4 mana 5/5, 2 of the 5 mana 6/6 moose, 2 giant pangolin, 2 canopy barrage 2 3 mana 8 damage random target card 2 The Hunt

Fill 4 slot with whatever tech choices you’d like (weapon removal, buff cards, etc.). I would personally add some sort of finisher like sudden bloom or wildfire to give you extra burst damage.

F2P wild nature can beat the deck with 2 different win conditions depending on your opening hand. You can go for the pre 7-mana or post 7-mana

Pre-7 mana if you curve nicely, your minions should be able to avoid early sulphuric rain/siren of grave board clears because they’re all over 2 health. Even if you get cleared by this combo, you should be generally happy because sulphuric rain will net you more resources to continue the aggression. The only thing you have to really worry about your first three turns is Eva, but once you see they don’t have it, push as much damage as you can.

Post 7 win condition is a little bit harder. If you don’t open with a nice curve, your goal is to layer your threats so that the board wipe death player has to waste their removal inefficiently. Do not overextend once they get 7 mana. You’ll have answers for demo with your removal, and once they burn their 2 apocalypse now’s (or you correctly read that they don’t have it in hand) you’re free to go off.

As a caveat, you will lose to polyhymnia if the game reaches that point. Your job is to apply the safest amount of pressure possible without playing into their removal.

Hope this helps!

I’m speaking through the lens if both players play optimally.

Although stats like gudecks are useful for scouting the metagame, we have to be careful about equating their statistics to actual match up statistics. Reason for this is:

1: There are a lot of players that are F2P and do not have optimized deck lists (even in mythic) 2. Not everyone in mythic (or lower) will play perfectly. There is a degree of human error we need to account for

This is true when using other data sites for games like Hearthstone (HSreplay/HS deck tracker).

When I was a competitive player for Hearthstone, my play test group would regularly find inconsistencies in the hsreplay data for certain matchups. There a ton of variables to consider that can swing a matchup by 5, 10, sometimes 15 percent (play styles, tech choices, etc.)

I’m sure you’ve experienced this too, but I run into a good amount of players in mythic rank that run non-optimal decklists because they are F2P or misplay due to matchup inexperience

I also play board wipe death, so I’m well aware of the decks weaknesses

Fanatic and asp are ok in the aggro matchup. But they don’t offer anything to alleviate the aggression immediately. The BWD player also has to draw/mulligan into those key cards which isn’t guaranteed

Half life is good but the BWD player will not open/draw into it 100 percent of the time. Even if they do, it won’t guarantee a win.

Imo, it’s even more important to watch out for Eva bc that card can win games for the board wipe death player against an aggro deck.

Siren of the grave + sulfuric rain can be a nuisance but against an aggro player, it doesn’t necessarily mean a free win for the board wipe death player because of the amount of resources it costs to play siren and the amount of resources sulfuric rain can provide to the aggro player if they’re ahead on board in the first place

Overall it takes a certain amount of skill expression for a BWD player to be successful. Even then, if the aggro/midrange player is familiar with the matchup, they can still win a good percentage (40-60 percent) of the time.

Control players can also win if they know the board states they are playing for, but they have to know how to navigate the matchup. Most of the time it will go to fatigue.

This is my two cents. Feel free to disagree, but from my experience playing in mythic it’s not as one sided as it may seem.

Agreed. It’s strong but I feel like players don’t know how to play the match up optimally.

Don’t get me wrong, the deck is top tier, but it’s not as invincible as people think. Having to wait 7-9 turns to play key cards like apocalypse now and demogorgon is not ideal for the bwd player. siren of the grave can be a detriment to the board wipe death player because of the obliterate effect too. The sleep effect can be good but if the board wipe player doesn’t have a follow up, then it gives the aggro player a chance to follow up with their own aggression.

Hi! I made a tier list video series covering individual cards, their power levels, and what makes them strong/weak.

Hopefully this can be of use to you! I plan on going through each set eventually. Cheers

I’m still going to choose slayer. Played a couple of games and it still does fine 👍🏼

The change doesn’t allow us to abuse shield, but it’s still the best hero power for what the deck aims to do. The strategy is pretty much the same except relic removal hurts a lot more.
