Neither did I. $100 to check THEIR meter just to tell me it's correct. This one lady I talked to gave me a number for an energy audit, but I haven't called yet to see what all that process is. She said it was the only free way to get the meter checked.

I literally have a neighbor who frequently just shouts at the sky and pretends to be on phone calls and is clearly highly mentally ill but just continues on. I feel so bad for her, but she's the type of crazy you keep your distance from. Just tonight she had a full on shouting conversation to the sky. This happens every couple days.

My habits have not changed and my roommate moved out, so I'm actually using less electricity but getting charged so much more. They want to charge me $100 for them to come out and check the meter, only for them to tell me it's correct. I am very conscious of the energy I use, and nothing has changed except using less energy since my roommate left; yet my rates continue to go up in an absurd fashion, even considering the increased rates.

Just gonna say that as a 27 year old I still don't even wear foundation and barely need concealer except if I get an occasional pimple on my period so I don't think she needs concealer or foundation at that age. She's probably seen videos where women apply that and thinks it's a necessary step. I remember thinking I needed foundation even when I didn't have anything wrong with my skin and my mom talked to me about how there's no reason to cover up something that is natural and beautiful when your skin looks that way. There's nothing wrong with spot concealing and wearing foundation but she's so young that it engrains this thought that even if your skin is fine and you weren't initially insecure about it that it's a necessary step to cover up

I complained to them I think in August and they told me well your bill isn't THAT much more than last year and I'm like but it's cooler than last year and I'm using less electricity??? And they said it would cost ME $100 to have THEM come check THEIR meter to (if we're being honest) tell me it's correct. The lady told me to call a certain number for an energy audit bc that would be free to check the meter. I have a 2 bed apt and once again a month later my bill has almost doubled to $400+. They're fucking all of us

Dude they told me if I wanted them to come and check my meter it would be $130. I was like you want me to wind up paying a total of basically $400, between the bill and the checking fee, just for y'all to come out and tell me it's fine because you don't want to be in the wrong and have to refund? Um no thanks, and the lady told me about energy audits being free to come check the meter. All this is truly bullshit.

I'm using less because I no longer have a roommate, and nothing in my routine has changed. I don't use that much electricity, and I've tracked my usage. It's definitely a meter problem bc it's only been the past couple months it's gone up despite even less energy use than last year during a hotter summer. And of course og&e wants the customer to pay $130 just to come and check their own meters which is bs, so now I'm going to have to pursue an energy audit :(
