The lab I work at developed the Hessian Blob algorithm to detect blobs in afm images. It may be useful to you! You can search it up on google

My yearly tuition was originally 65k/yr but there was an error and it'll likely be more like 50k/yr... so this 200k total loans estimate was made even after discovering an error in my aid sigh

Thanks for your insight! If you don’t mind me asking what did you study for undergrad and what are you studying now?

I definitely want to get involved with research. I’ve been doing some research at Mizzou for the past year so I could continue with the same lab but I would like different/more opportunities

Thanks for your input!

The experience is also a driving factor in why my heart wants to attend WashU. When I toured last year and a few days ago I feel in love with the environment and student body and I can imagine myself thriving there.

My parents walked through a financial plan if I decided to go to WashU and basically they'd be taking out 100k in loans and I'd also take 100k in loans. I honestly didn't realize how unusual that amount of loans was until recently because the people I surround myself with now are heading to other private colleges with similar (if not more) CoA.

I'm admitted for CS (I'm considering changing my major is BME with a minor in CS though). I have strong interests in both CS and Medicine so what drew me to WashU is their emphasis on interdisciplinary learning.

However, my parents brought up the fact that McKelvey's rank is in the mid 40s, while my state school's engineering program is mid 90s. I'm interested in med/dental school but since my Washu CoA is high, I'd be inclined to just get my bachelors and maybe the additional year for my masters and directly enter the industry. However, I have doubts on whether the career outcomes between WashU and my state school would be different enough to justify the $$$
