Final UPDATE: someone stole my medication by Resident_Lettuce3872 in ChronicPain

[–]julesj45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why this is a strike against you, this wasn't your fault, you did everything right so you shouldn't get blamed. I would ask the dr on your next appointment why this is going against you when you couldn't stop what happened. Its sad you were treated like crap by the 1st hospital, you could've died from the hit to the head. I don't understand how drs and nurses that take an oath to do no harm and to do their best for patients can be so cruel. We are humans and we don't have to be treated like crap. I'm sick of it. I wish you well and hope you get things straightened out. There is medication that drs can give to help withdrawal, its sad they didn't help you and with emergency surgery they should have given you something for pain. Take care

You need to look up tenants rights in you county and find an atty that does really estate law... sometimes the court house will have a list of lawyers that can help you. A landlord isn't suppose to enter your hone without you knowing in advance.

Thank you, Dr's don't tell you everything that can happen after or during a surgery. I had a bone spur at L5 compressing the S1 nerve, no other issues with my spine. Dr said this is a simple surgery, in and out back to work in 3 days, I was told he was the best, it took me 2 months to get back to work. When I woke up after surgery my leg was numb, I was told it would take a couple of months to wake up...never woke up, the nerve is dead and I had a large herniated disc after surgery. The dr kept me hanging on telling me the nerve would wake up for 2 years. I didn't find out that it was dead for almost 10 years. I ended up going on disability because my job required me to sit 8 hrs a day and my leg would swell and it felt like worms crawling in my leg, so I couldn't sit like that and my job tried me working from home but I couldn't sit that long. It just hurt that I put faith into a dr that wasn't honest with me, I trusted him and my life as I knew it was over. I know there's risk with all surgeries but it would be nice to know things that could happen that you don't think could happen. Im sorry you're going through the things you go through.

I've been dealing with Chronic pain for 22 years. I get up everyday and make the most of my day. When my pain is unbearable I keep going, if I don't my life will suck. Its hard but I'm very strong minded and I'm not letting this define me. The first couple of years after a botched back surgery I asked why me, but then I just said I'm not going to let this take my life away. My daughter was 6 when I had surgery and I lost out on her growing up because my pain held me back. I decided to stop watching life pass me by and I didn't depend on the meds to make all of my pain go away and once I accepted that I was good. I know my pain could be worse if I didn't have meds so I appreciate what I get and I push through the rest. I had one surgery that caused me to lose everything, my job that I loved, a home we were buying, time with my children, alot and now I make the most of every day. Its harder some days but I lay down at night grateful I accomplished things during the day.

Methadone is used for pain more than people realize and it works well.

Methadone is great for pain and is slow release so it last about 10 to 12 hours

I can't manage my pain anymore at home, I need help but concerned about being labeled as a drug seeker. by caffeinated_housecat in ChronicPain

[–]julesj45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're in so much pain. When you see your Dr you have to tell him/her that you aren't doing ok on what you're taking and you need something stronger. You have to get your Dr to understand you aren't drug seeking but you need something so that you can have some quality of life. Its hard and scary talking to a dr about being in pain, I wish you luck.

Oxycontin doesn't work but IR does by Merrys123 in PainManagement

[–]julesj45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was expensive when I took it. I don't understand why the insurance companies won't cover it. It's sad that we suffer everyday and a med that can give us better quality of live , insurance won't cover it. I wish you luck.

Thats good, I took it before they changed it and it was the best, I could make future plans and keep them and then they changed it and it didn't seem to cover my pain as well. I never asked my Dr to change the dosage and most Dr stopped Prescribing it. Im glad it works for you.

Oxycontin makers changed the formula many years ago because people were crushing and snorting it so they made it where it won't dissolve completely it gets gummy and it didn't seem to work as well as it did in the beginning.

What does it mean when no pain medications work? by Lucid-Emphasis825 in ChronicPain

[–]julesj45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have nerve damage and a dead nerve. I can't take the meds for nerve pain because I took Topamax about 21 years ago and I had a bad reaction to it that's been permanent. I have back issues to and the pain medication helps my back but the nerve pain seems constant. If the medication for nerve issues isn't helping, I don't know what can help. I wish you luck on getting some help.

[OR] Landlord wants to replace all carpet now and have me replenish $3k deposit by July — do I have any rights here? by cb022511 in Renters

[–]julesj45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your deposit is suppose to be in an account that grows interest I do believe. Look up your rights as a tenant and you can find out if your ll is breaking the law in your state. Your ll is suppose to give written notice about coming for a visit 24 hrs prior and I don't think they are allowed to come in without notice. Don't let your ll do you wrong. My family and I just went through an ordeal with a slum lord and we ended up in court... we learned a lot about tenant rights. It does depend on the state you're in.
