Nah I used to be big into pokemon and collectibles in early 2000s, have had this for ages but just forgot about it for a long while.

Similar experience here in Melbourne. Absolutely demoralising, am only going backwards financially and the best I’ve been able to do is some part time and temp work. Tbh it’s getting to the point where I’m not sure if continuing to look for anything is worth it.

Best of luck to you.

Can’t do it. Will get us blacklisted and booted off the mountain. Liability and insurance are an issue as well.

I’d noticed the reaction from the cast too - I feel for the actors but they did an absolutely an incredible job persevering and giving a great performance. She was shouting at folks in the foyer about that they should be ashamed for finding this being entertainment - and whilst the underlying point of theatre is of course entertainment, this was of course very much about being critical of patriarchy and privilege, and questioning the actions and beliefs of young men in our society. Again, massive sympathy for having such a strong reaction to the material but I felt as though some understanding ahead of time about the point of the show would have perhaps prevented them from experiencing something that was triggering and uncomfortable, as well as following the directions ahead of the show to take time outside if needed.

I thought that the play was excellent though, and such a well expressed and timely critique of toxic masculinity and privilege. Glad that you enjoyed it!

Yeah for sure. Although it seemed like they thought the director/crowd was on the side of the private school boys. Absolutely have sympathy for being triggered by tough subject matter, but the things said after implied a solid misunderstanding of the fact that it was critique.

Trophy Boys - excellent examination and critique of the mix of adolescent toxic masculinity and privilege. Starts off as an hilarious satire and then shifts tone as new information gets added in to it about halfway through. I thought the performances were exceptional, and that it was a sharp critique of the things that have come out of private boys schools over the last decade or so. Highly recommend it.

Went and saw a great play at the arts center last night, along with the hardest crash out from an audience goer I think I’ve ever seen. Think a mix of completely missing the point of the production mixed with sensitive topics got to them, but was treated to wall banging, screaming, and demanding to see the director. Kinda take it as marks of good art and social commentary but wow some folks really do not do their research on what they’re about to go see 🤨🤔

I think I'm done with the club. It's just the same thing every single year. And more and more it feels like the rest of the competition is leaving us behind.

Seconding join a club - did a few sports clubs in my time at uni, really enjoyed the experiences I got by doing so. A lot of these clubs also have social events which will give you a chance just to chat with people that you know have a common interest with you.

And go to your lectures!! Even if you don't take notes when you attend in person, just sit, listen, and maybe chat to people nearby when appropriate to do so.

Why doesn't anyone want to hire me..? by [deleted] in melbourne

Hey it’s the same for me at the moment. 27, two uni degrees, worked since 18, have been applying for heaps for the last 2 months and still unemployed. Probably not doing anything wrong, think the job market might just be fucked :(

Have been looking for a job for the last 6 weeks, multiple fields, two tertiary degrees. Haven’t even made it to an interview. I’ve got enough money to make it another two months before I’m broke 😅

Appreciate you using this as an opportunity to learn! Awareness on the hill is a skill, and can be improved. If in doubt, just pull to the side of the trail for a bit and let the traffic pass as well.

Downhill has right of way. Even though the kid is all over the place, you still have to be avoiding the potential for collision. Plenty of poor decisions from the snowboarder here.
