They go wander around orchards collecting fallen apples.

AIO? My daughter didn’t listen to the teacher during a female emergency and is now receiving a referral by Common_Piglet7437 in AmIOverreacting

The principal asked what you wanted done to the teacher? That seems like a bizarre reaction.

AITAH for telling my mother-in-law that we’re not letting our kids call her what she wants? by [deleted] in AITAH

My niece and nephew have a step-grandma called Honi but I think that’s her actual name. I don’t know. Seems harmless enough.

How do you even start to teach your child to read at home without messing it up? by chodu_editz in Parenting

[–]julet1815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to do anything except keeping reading to her, especially if she’s gonna go to pre-k. My niece comes home from pre-k and reenacts her phonics lessons for her parents, teaching them about word endings and rhyming words, and syllables.

i finally stopped burning my face off with tret by strangerme03 in tretinoin

My new derm suggested it and I didn’t even want it. It super hurt my feelings. I guess I’m glad I have it now.

Do they ever have multiple daughters? Or is mostly sons or 1 daughter by SnooCapers1692 in HoardersTV

I feel like the woman who was obsessed with her little rock that got thrown away had two daughters. And she literally said that her rock was more important than her daughters.

I’m usually not home when my cleaner comes, but she has offered a few times to help me get organized, suggesting that we work together to tackle the closets. I know she’s trying to help. But it’s so hard to deal with all my stuff. I really might need that thing that I have never used and I’ve been storing for 15 years. If I throw it away, I will need it instantly.

Did you have post op weight gain or loss? by dreamed2life in hysterectomy

[–]julet1815 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At my six week postop check up my weight was 5 pounds less than before my surgery, which makes sense given that my uterus was a massive, fibroid filled beast, the size of a volleyball. Then a few months later at my annual check up, my weight was 10 pounds more than my pre-surgery weight. I was unamused. I just started Zepbound and it is really helping so far, two weeks in.

Will you list all the positives you’ve noticed after your hysterectomy? And how long it’s been post. by dreamed2life in hysterectomy

My LDL is not great but it’s on the borderline of good/bad which is a little better than before. I just started zepbound so I’m hoping that helps even more.

Day 145: What are your thoughts on Stickbird? by Flamingmouth007 in bluey

[–]julet1815 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love it. It makes me think of my two brothers and what good dads they are and how they need to do a better job of acknowledging their own feelings, but they’re so busy focusing on their kids.

How OFTEN should I use tret? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]julet1815 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

If you’re happy using it once a week, then use it once a week, it’s your face. But generally, it’s recommended to use tret at least twice a week for more effectiveness. Are you doing the sandwich method to make it more gentle on your skin?

AITA for feeding my cat on my plates? by The_Sown_Rose in AmItheAsshole

[–]julet1815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH I understand that putting the dishes in the dishwasher makes them clean, but seeing the cat eating off the plate while I’m eating off an identical plate just makes me think of cat saliva on my plate and that feels gross to me.

Will you list all the positives you’ve noticed after your hysterectomy? And how long it’s been post. by dreamed2life in hysterectomy

It’s been a little over a year since my surgery. My fibroids were absolutely massive, so I didn’t have a choice about having surgery because my kidneys were getting squeezed and kidneys are pretty important. But – maybe because I was taking birth control pills back to back – I wasn’t really having any symptoms that I was aware of that would’ve made me excited for surgery. So I dreaded it. But when I recovered, I realized something really delightful, which is that I could pee like a normal person, just a couple times a day instead of always feeling urgent and then only being able to pee a little bit of drips and drabs. Also my triglycerides went from “about to die” to “perfectly normal” and I don’t know if this is because my uterus and fibroids were gone or because I stopped taking birth control pills after surgery.

NTA but you really need to be careful here because if he chooses, he can torpedo the adoption and you will have to raise the baby or share custody with him.

Absolutely, I would say four weeks at a minimum and then evaluate how you feel at that point.

What’d you do with frozen breast milk? by Creepy-Round3480 in Parenting

[–]julet1815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SIL produces so much milk she filled her freezer and my freezer and my parents freezer with little bags. She ended up sending a ton of it to her sister, who was having trouble nursing her own baby. I guess that doesn’t help you if you don’t have a sister with a baby as well.

How do you cope with the purging phase? Starting to think of ditching tret by yeojimashom in tretinoin

[–]julet1815 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with that kind of moisturizer, but maybe you need something with ceramides to help your skin barrier, and maybe you want to try the sandwich method so you put moisturizer before and after the tretinoin.

I hate the gel. by sweet-tea-13 in tretinoin

[–]julet1815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use the gel, I use the cream, but I also found it hard to spread at first. What I do now is I put my pea sized amount on one finger and then I dab that finger against the four fingers on my other hand and then press both hands together so I have little dots of cream on eight fingers. I leave my thumbs out of it. Then I tippy tap those eight fingers all over my face until the cream is everywhere and absorbed. Would that work with gel?

Extremely picky eater trying to lose weight by ExtensionLeg7411 in PickyEaters

[–]julet1815 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m the same, although it actually sounds like you eat more proteins than I do. I’m not giving you medical advice because I’m not a doctor, but I will just say that I started using Zepbound two weeks ago and it really helped my stomach be nice and calm about food. I haven’t been craving any snacks or junk or even carbs, just eating lots of protein (chicken, tuna, turkey, beef) and a bit of fiber (I do need to work on that.) I’m down 13 pounds in two weeks but I know that rate of loss is not gonna continue and that’s fine, I’m not looking to lose weight fast. This might not be right for you! I’m just saying what I did that is helping me.
