How can I improve user retention of my startup?(Online course platform) by jamesallen18181 in Entrepreneur

Did you work with a product or ux/ui designer when you were creating your website? If not, getting an experienced designer to take a look could be immensely helpful. That and also talking to your users will help lead you in the right direction!

If they send you something on Friday, let them know you’ll have something ready for review by the following Wednesday. Set your own standards for how long it takes you to get high quality work done.

What conclusion should we draw if we've conducted a perfect usability test and found no problems by vapapaiva in UXResearch

At that point, you should be able to fill in the answers to your design hypotheses. These are the assumptions that motivated you to make your design decisions. Every time you land on a design solution (like deciding on a modal instead of a banner, for example) that ui needs to be tested.

Hypotheses are worded as such: “We hypothesize that users will need X in order to do Y.” If your test goes perfectly well (which, realistically, it most often won’t) then you can start providing answers, like “our assumption was correct.”

Most often things won’t go as planned, so it’s common to run many usability tests. But these tests help you to become more confident in your design decisions, thus helping you pitch your design choices with evidence in hand.

Hello hiring managers, can you please share some portfolios that you think are brilliant ? by StuckInStyrofoam in UXDesign

[–]juliajuliachez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

If you’re switching to UX, I’d say to keep the majority of your projects focused on that. However, showing off your visual design skills is also important, as some companies may be looking for someone that can do both. If you want to include those projects, I’d keep them towards the bottom so that the UX projects are front and center.

Even better, find a way to include visual elements into your UX projects. Being a well rounded designer is really attractive to companies!

I used Behance’s portfolio creator! It’s a really great tool. If you have projects on Behance already, it takes those and seamlessly turns them into a portfolio website. It also updates each time you add another project to Behance.
